Review of From the End of Heaven by Chris Stewart

From the End of Heaven is the fifth book in the very excellent "The Great and Terrible" series by best-selling author, Chris Stewart.

I'll be honest, from the very first book in the series, Prologue: The Brothers, I was completely blown away. Chris Stewart can write! I was hooked immediately and have anxiously been awaiting each new release. Yes, I am one of the first to be at the store on the day of release. I had to wait three weeks before I could purchase this one and thought I was going to die! (No, I'm not 15-years-old.)

Anyway, I digress. Stewart did not disappoint with this latest installment of his "The Great and Terrible Series."

In Fury and Light, the fourth in the series, Stewart left his characters in a desperate fight for their lives after the attack on America in The Second Sun. The attack left America devoid of technology run via electricity. Yeah. . .third world status, immediately.

Satan, from the beginning, has been manipulating and moving his human pawns as they fight and scrape for world domination. The prince of Saudi Arabia who killed his father and brother for the throne. World business leaders who willingly destroyed America in order to seize control and build the society they envision, the one where they are at the top and the rest of the world bow and scrape for every favor. Politicians who sold their souls for more fame and power. Oh, there is no end to the willing pawns Satan has at his disposal.

And yet on the other side, we have God and all His angels, as well as His servants on earth. And although it looks grim, God will always win. Teancum, from Book of Mormon times, is the recurring character throughout all these books and he rocks! Oh, and he kicks butt too.

Picking up where Chris Stewart left off, from the backliner of From the End of Heaven we read:

What happens when the world goes dark?

The battle of good against evil intensifies in the darkness of an EMP-devastated America. The electromagnetic pulses that wiped out the country's entire electrical grid have reduced people to an almost animal existence. While those with good hearts pull together to help each other, those inclined to evil find free reign for the rage that Satan and his minions are stirring up in their hearts.

For Sara Brighton, the time is fast approaching when she must face the frightening realities her husband, Neil, warned her about before his death. Sam's problem is more immediate: How can he get his family to a safe place? Bono is still trying to get to his family, and Azadeh is struggling to find her role in the family that has reached out to welcome her in. Meanwhile, the followers of Satan plot to take over the government of the United States and remake it to fulfill their own greed and lust for power.

The situation for all of these people is desperate, but even in a world gone mad, there are moments of hope, the possibility of miracles, and help from the other side of the veil. Discover the truth: The last days are terrible, but they are also great. Don't miss the next gripping volume in this landmark series!

And can I tell you something? They are right. You do not want to miss this book! Heroes are regular people and soldiers who step up to the task. The bad guys are bad! People with little to no moral fiber are victimizing all in their path because there is no rule of law. Oh, and when Teancum shows up with a military contingent from heaven? Oh yeah! I was up until the wee hours of the morning (the only time I have for reading right now is when I should be sleeping) turning each page as quickly as I could read. I wasn't disappointed.

Like his other books, From the End of Heaven is a must-have addition to your library. Big, fat, huge two-thumbs up! Number Six in the series hits the shelves in October! I cannot wait.
