FUNDRAISER AUCTION, DINNER AND SHOW TO OFFSET COSTS OF KIDNEY TRANSPLANT 

OREM, UT - A fundraiser auction, dinner and show to help offset medical costs for kidney transplant hopeful, Alvin Salima will be held Thursday evening, March 28, 2013 at Noah’s Reception Center in South Jordan, Utah. The event, sponsored by A Touch of New York Salon and Spa owner, Tammy Will, and political activist, Candace Salima, will be hosted by Fox 13 News personality, Big Budah. Several local performers have joined the fundraising effort and will perform throughout the event. Musical performers include popular singers, Nancy DeMello and Sherry Hulet, and the concert pianist and violin duo, Moon Light. Comedians Ivan Bigney and Joshua Fonokalafi will also bring their brand of humor to the benefit. 

A silent auction will also be held in conjunction with the benefit and features sculptures of The Statue of Responsibility by renowned artist, Gary Price. Other items up for bid are; recording time at Lakeview Studios, a signed copy of Glenn Beck’s book, Being George Washington, a 20”x30” framed print of celebrated painter John McNaughton’s , One Nation Under God, an FMK 9C1 handgun donated by UtahGuns.com, and a generous gift basket with signed books by authors Jayne Ann Krentz, Janette Rallison, Loralee Evans, James Rollins, L. S. Kielbart, Steve Berry, J. Scott Savage, and Jennie Hansen just to name a few of the great prizes available to the top bidders. 

Salima is a youth treatment counselor for the Division of Juvenile Justice Services and has worked with at-risk youth for over 25 years. His name is near the top of three waiting lists and he has patiently waited for a kidney donor since May of 2010. He currently undergoes dialysis treatments three times a week at Davita Dialysis in Provo. 

Noah’s Reception Center is located at 322 West 11000 South in South Jordan. The benefit is from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. An account has been opened at Zions Bank for people to drop off donations to the Alvin Salima Fund.
