Buy Back America KTALK Studios
Next week, Tim Aalders, the host of Buy Back America Radio will be on Pioneer Trek ... oh yeah, he'll be sweatin' it in the Wyoming desert. He is the head cook for over 400 people for four days! He's actually looking foward to it. In the meantime, I will move from co-host duties to host duties, just for the week. I've worked hard to put a good week together for our listeners and I wanted to give you a rundown, one day at a time. Here's Monday's show:

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Pat, owner of Some Dude's Hobby Shop

We'll be discussing the challenges of small business in this economy!

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Alafair Burke, Author of "Long Gone"

Alafair said: The idea for LONG GONE came during one of my regular early morning strolls through New York City's West Village. It was early 2009, when each cold day seemed to bring a new wave of unannounced and abrupt business closures. The familiar diner there on Monday would be replaced by an empty storefront on Tuesday. As I passed all those papered-over windows, I found myself thinking about the employees who had suddenly lost their jobs. I wondered what it would be like to show up at work one morning to find your entire professional life ... gone.

From that kernel of an idea emerged Alice Humphrey, a woman struggling to find herself at a layoff and eight months of unemployment. When she finally lands her dream job of managing a small gallery in the city's Meatpacking District, Alice is eager for a chance to make a name for herself beyond the shadow of her famous father, an award-winning and controversial filmmaker. The gallery's launch goes off without a hitch until the morning Alice arrives at work to find the gallery gone -- stripped bare as if it had never existed, vacant except for the dead body of the well suited corporate representative who hired her. Not only has her dream job vanished, but all evidence in the murder investigation points to Alice. When police discover ties between the defunct gallery and a missing girl, Alice knows she has been framed, and the only way to the truth is through a tangled web of high-tech conspiracies and long-hidden family secrets.

NYT Bestselling author Lee Childs says of LONG GONE: "She's got what it takes . . . Expertly shows that the most gripping drama is not found in the courtroom but in the places where choices get made in the shadows cast by politics and corruption and human desires."
