Columbia President Bollinger Introduces Ahmadinejad

Columbia President Lee Bollinger has some questions before introducing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a speaker at the university, September 24 2007

I agree with every word this man said, but what was the purpose of bringing Ahmadinejad to the university? Why listen to the rantings of a madman? Why give him a platform? Why allow evil an unedited voice to reach the minds of the weak? Why?

  1. for this reason alone, I would have banned him.... he is supporting, supplying and aiding the insurgency that is killing our american soldiers. Arrest him!

  3. You've heard the expression "Give him enough rope and let him hang himself"?

I actually think that this was a very good thing to do - let him speak freely, which is the basis of our American belief, and he will turn many more people away than if 'they' tried to keep him silenced!

Several years ago, the film "the Godmakers" came to my hometown. Although that film is despicable and hideous in every way, there was nothing anyone could do to stop it - they have the right under the constitution to say whatever they want. However - the film WAS so despicable that it turned people away with disgust. The missionaries stood outside the building and gave away Books of Mormon to all the people that just couldn't believe that a good people acted as hideously as the film said they did. It was more of a missionary tool than you would have thought possible.

So kudos to President Bolinger, and here's hoping his plan works!

  4. Ahmadinejab needs to be arrested, but he holds diplomatic immunity, sadly. Our top level assassins need to sneak into Iran and do the bastard in. Sorry -- I apologize for the language. But he is such an evil man.

  5. He sounded like an idiot to rational americans during his university visit, but unfortunately, he is spinning it to the muslim world and his people in a different light. Iran is reporting we gave him standing ovations and the President of Columbia was a rude host. The little dictator looked great standing up to the bad americans. I think they even explained it as going into the Lion's Den and coming out victorius. Rather sickening if you ask me. We played right into his hands.

I also just read today that 50 media and academic types had dinner with him last night for "a dialogue". Let's just play right into his hands people....

One good thing, a poll was taken asking who would be better running our country Bush or Ahmadinejad and it was 70-30 in favor of Bush. My question is "who are the 30 percent?" Amazing.

  6. Mike - I knew the Middle East was going to edit everything to their satisfaction to portray the message they wanted. If nothing else, this should be a huge message to the bleeding heart liberals who believe everything that comes out of the Middle East.

I am horrified that any American would sit down have dinner with such a heinous, evil individual. What were they thinking?

And the 30% -- send 'em to the Middle East. We don't need, nor do we want them here. If they think life under a genocidal dictator is preferable to American life -- GET OUT!

Mike, how are we ever to stop this tide toward self-destruction?
