On News Corner USA: Guns Classified Utah AR15 Giveaway

New Year's Day Giveaway

30 December 2012

For Immediate Release

Gun Classifieds is hosting a New Year’s Giveaway and one lucky winner is going to be the proud owner of a brand new DPMS Panther AR15. In other words, Gun Classifieds is leading the way to Beat The Ban and defend our Second Amendment Rights. On January 1, 2013, we’re going to compile all eligible entries and draw a winner.

As we’re sure you’re aware, your right to keep and bear arms is under siege. President Obama is expected to introduce devastating legislature that will attempt to lockdown firearms that many of us hold sacred as safeguards to our way of life. Many believe the nightmare scenario will play out with a knock on the door and a confiscation of your guns.

But in proud celebration of our Second Amendment rights, Gun Classifieds is giving away the symbol of our Freedom. We’re giving away a brand new AR15 . . . a DPMS Panther complete and in the box.

The previous Federal Assault Weapons Ban, signed into effect by Bill Clinton in 1994, expired on September 13, 2004. During the period, it was illegal to manufacture, transfer and import specific firearms that fell into this newly created “assault weapons” category. Cosmetic features defined this category and included” telescoping stock, pistol grip, flash suppressor and bayonet mount. The ban also included any magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

The ban became very symbolic to both Gun Control and Gun Rights advocates and after the it expired, several proponents attempted to re-enact similar forms in either the House or the Senate in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009. While all of the attempts proved unsuccessful, a renewed effort to ban weapons including the AR15 was sparked by the recent Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Fearful that new legislature could ban the AR15, many consumers rushed to stores to purchase them only to find the rifle sold out at most Utah outlets as current owners became reluctant to part with theirs. With very few available on the market, prices escalated for this very popular rifle and remain well above previous market prices today.

But Gun Classifieds was able to purchase a brand new DPMS Panther model and are using it to promote awareness of their Grand Opening as well as the recent attacks on the Second Amendment through new Assault Rifle legislation.

The owners of Gun Classifieds believe that if banning the weapon can be a powerful symbol for Gun Control, then providing one to a law-abiding citizen can be an equally powerful symbol for Gun Rights.

Here’s what you need to do to be eligible to win:

  • Be a Utah Resident 21 years or older, and
  • LIKE the Gun Classifieds Utah Facebook page, and
  • LIKE and SHARE any of our Beat The Ban posts, (please note that your privacy settings must be set to public so that we can verify this.)
The winner will be randomly chosen from the list of eligible contestants on January 1, 2013 at 10 pm. We will close the contest at 8:00 P.M. MST to allow time for us to compile and process this data and then select the winner.

Winner must also pass a thorough Background Check and complete a comprehensive Bill of Sale.

No purchase is necessary to participate in this giveaway.

Movie Corner: Les Misérables

by Candace Salima
29 December 2012

Movie:  Les Misérables
Director: Tom Hooper
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried
Runtime/Rating: 157 Minutes / PG-13

Nominated for four Golden Globes, Les Misérables, the motion picture, does not disappoint. I came to the film with a high level of expectation in a number of areas. As one who knows every word of dialogue, song, character, etc. I had high expectations for every single actor.

The story itself is unparalleled. Victor Hugo penned Les Misérables and published it in 1862. It told the story of a man imprisoned for 20 years for stealing a loaf of bread and trying to escape, a particularly merciless and zealous lawman, and a woman consigned to the streets by the viciousness of both women and men. It is an enduring story of death, injustice, redemption, forgiveness, love, and revolution. 17th Century France was a particularly dark time in French history, and this is the background for Victor Hugo's story.

Seen by over 53 million people in 38 countries and heard in 21 languages since its first performance in 1985, Les Misérables is one of the greatest stage musicals of all time, winning seven Tony Awards, and is still performed on stages in London and around the world. The motion picture adaptation of Hugo's book, and Boubil & Schonberg's musical adaptation, gives us a movie that will leave a mark on the soul of each viewer, for Hugo's book is one of the most powerful telling of man vs. man in literary history. Uniquely, the performers sang everything live with only piano music playing into nearly invisible earbuds. It set the stage for one of the most unique cinematic experiences in industry history, the perfect blending of stage and film.

Hugh Jackman gives us a stunning interpretation of Jean Valjean. He brings a power and depth to the role that is Oscar worthy, proving with his voice why he is already a Tony and Emmy award winning actor. Anne Hathaway also flexed her acting muscles in the role of Fantine, showcasing a stunning voice and acting ability. Both Jackman and Hathaway were equal to the monumental task before them. Russell Crowe, as Javert, did an amazing job in the role of the merciless lawman, but he simply doesn't have the vocal chops to bring musical justice to the role. And Amanda Seyfried, as Cozette, had the range, but not the vocal power.

The best musical performances in the movie were given by Eddie Redmayne (Marius), Aaron Tveit (Enjolras) and Samantha Barks (Eponine). Their voices more than equaled the task before them. Jackman, also a very skilled vocalist, was compared in my mind to Gary Morris' performance as Jean Valjean on the London stage, and I'm afraid Jackman didn't quite measure up, vocally. That doesn't take anything away from his amazing performance, I'm simply saying he didn't meet Morris' level of vocal skill.

The movie, in and of itself, is a cinematic masterpiece, although Hooper had an unnerving tendency to zoom all the way in on the actors' faces. I'm not sure why we needed to see every pore and pimple on their faces; it pulled power from some of the moments, as did the odd angles, but that's more likely a personal preference rather than a cinematic mistake. Did I like it? I was spellbound throughout the entire 2 1/2 hours. Les Misérables scores a solid 4 out of 5 stars. I predict a number of Oscar wins and a certain worldwide success. Congratulations on a masterful adaptation of Hugo's original story.

Sex, Adultery and the Military by Jeffrey Denning

Should soldiers be punished for extramarital affairs? Should adultery be removed from the Uniform Code of Military Justice? "I'm going to kill him! I'm going to track him down and kill him!" Those were the words of a man I served with in war. While we were overseas, his wife confessed that she had been having an affair. "That guy's been sleeping in my bed," exclaimed the soon to be tenured soldier just before we were to leave Iraq. (3 December 2012)

Humor by Susan Curtis

There comes a time in every woman’s life when she has to face the ultimate truth: she is no longer young enough to flirt her way out of a ticket. I have known, of course, for at least two decades and change that I am past my prime when it comes to this important challenge. To add insult to injury, various members of my family to whom I may or may not have given birth have suggested at times that I drive like an old lady, so who can blame me for occasionally trying to prove them wrong? When I was pulled over recently for speeding, I was secretly proud of my geriatric Jeep for being able to go that fast. However, I didn't think the officer was impressed. I needed a strategy, fast! Youth Violence and Crime by Alvin Salima

Youth violence and crime affect a community's economic health, as well as individuals' physical and mental health and well-being. Homicide is the second leading cause of death for youth in our country. In 2008, more than 656,000 young people, ages 10-24, were treated in emergency departments for injuries sustained from violence. Each neighborhood and community has unique experiences with violence and different resources available to them. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to preventing youth violence. (4 December 2012)

The Right Way and The Wrong Way by Candace Salima

This is a funny time to be living in America. We stand on the precipice of a fiscal cliff while Washington, D.C. blithely plays "politics as usual." Your average American would assume that every elected and appointed official would be furiously working away, twenty hours a day at minimum, finding the solution to the United States' out-of-control spending. That average American would be wrong. Barack Obama just embarked on a $4 million vacation with this family, leaving Congress to deal with the mess. America is over $16 trillion in debt, $5 trillion of which was added by the Obama Administration alone, with growth to GDP at a dismal 2.7%. In case you're wondering, we need a bare minimum of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) to growth of 4% in order to maintain a healthy economy. (4 December 2012)

What is Democracy? The Greater Good? The Greater Greed? by Cash Case

The first legal challenges to Obamacare rested on constitutional principles, but a new effort out of Oklahoma goes after the cogs that make the law function. State attorney general Scott Pruitt is trying to block the Internal Revenue Service from imposing fees on employers and individuals who don’t comply with the law’s mandates. In doing so, he may create a way for other states to fight back against the federal government’s top-down management of health care. If the suit succeeds, the law will not be invalidated, but if enough states choose to opt out, the resulting lack of funds could make Obamacare’s financial structure untenable. (5 December 2012)

Parents and the Drug Trap by Muriel Sluyter
We seem to be losing almost an entire generation of our most valuable asset, our own children. A truly astonishing percentage of today’s parents are drug users, and the chance that their offspring will avoid that drug trap is problematic at best. They love their parents and have a desperate need to justify a parent’s drug habit. Worse yet, drug-addicted parents justify their own behavior by poo-pooing the culture’s indictment of drug use at every possible opportunity. (6 December 2012)

Obamacare and it's Effects on America

Patrick Holman (L) - Obamacare is Here to Stay - The idea that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or, “Obamacare,” is somehow an infringement on personal liberties or the Constitution is an inaccurate opinion for people to hold. Yes, it’s an opinion, but that doesn’t mean somebody can’t be right or wrong just because we regard any statements or thoughts as their own view. Especially when in this situation, people need to stand up and fight for the right thing. (7 December 2012
Gerald Hand (R) - Obamacare: The Taxman Cometh - All I can say is THANK GOODNESS OBAMACARE is here! I mean, like the noted genius Jamie Foxx recently was quoted as saying "Obama is our lord and savior", and to have a program rolled out to the masses that is going to be so good we have to wait until 2014 for it, and our illustrious Senators and Representatives are excluded from this coverage. But why would anyone want to not be covered by this bill? (6 December 2012)

To Dream or Not to Dream by Tevita Tonga Toutai

The election is over and yet the biggest issue on leading Republican minds is that of immediate immigration reform. The new focus is on granting amnesty versus addressing our debilitating economic situation. Republicans are willing to sacrifice their values and stance on immigration to gain popularity with minorities.Unfortunately, Democrats have already settled into that role of promising the world and continuing to tease minorities with mere crumbs unworthy of consumption. The merry-go-round is spinning out of control causing reality to wobble as if it could maintain this unconventional angle. (7 December 2012)

The First Prophet is the first book in a new Bishop Files Novel trilogy. Suicide and Bullying, Who's Responsible? by Erin Apelu

The weather was unusually warm for December, but the afternoon felt normal. Not long after the bell rang, Bennion Jr. High students emerged from the doors that held them prisoner for the past six hours and spread like lava across the hibernating lawn. A Nation Remembers Pearl Harbor

by Candace Salima, News Corner USA Editorial
Originally posted on 8 December 2012

On December 7 of 1941 the United States of America was attacked, without provocation, by the Empire of Japan. Franklin Delano Roosevelt addressed a shocked and grieving nation:

This attack brought America fully into a World War they'd desperately tried to stay out of, and we were drawn into the battle on two fronts. In the South Pacific, Japan made its move on the United States of America. It was their very mistaken belief that if they could draw America into the war, we would give up the Hawaiian Islands as being too costly and step back while they continued their march on island after island.

"The [American military] base on [Oahu] was attacked by 353 Japanese fighters, bombers and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers. All eight U.S. Navy battleships were damaged, with four being sunk. Of these eight damaged, two were raised, and with four repaired, six battleships returned to service later in the war. The Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, an anti-aircraft training ship, and one minelayer. 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed; 2,402 Americans were killed and 1,282 wounded." Source

Until September 11 of 2001, this day in American history lived as the most horrific attack on America. Thousands of our soldiers died; and instead of surrendering Hawaii, because America doesn't surrender, we were drawn into the war on two fronts: the Pacific theater and the European theater. Before World War II was over, 400,000 Americans had given their lives to keep the world free.

While my expertise is in the European theater of that war, I know that the war fought by our soldiers in the Pacific was horrifying on all levels. Americans, especially our Greatest Generation, fought for God, family and country. The price they paid for our freedom was beyond measure or understanding by Americans today.

In speaking with a veteran of that war, his voice trembling while tears choked his throat, he addressed the current affairs of our nation, "This is not the America I was wounded for; this is not the America my friends died for." And he's right. When they fought the Japanese, the malaria, the starvation, the shortage of weaponry and ammunition, and the unfettered viciousness of the Japanese in the P.O.W. camps, so many died and died horribly. And that horror began at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii early that December morning. But the U.S. Military triumphed over the Japanese, and ultimately, they paid dearly for that attack on Pearl Harbor.

Yesterday, social networking was alive with the remembrances of Pearl Harbor, and it was heartwarming to see so many honoring those whose lives were lost, those who were wounded, and those who waited at home. Today, News Corner USA wants to remind Americans the cost others have paid for the lives we live today. Is it so little to ask that we honor the sacrifices of those who have gone before us? To ask that we remember that the freedom and liberty each generation of Americans has been born with, does not come freely. We must take the responsibility of educating ourselves about:
  • The founding and development of our nation;
  • Why the Founding Fathers chose a republic over all other types of government;
  • Study and fully understand the U.S. Constitution; and
  • Why our Founding Fathers chose to found America on Judeo/Christian principles.
Each day you awaken, thank God for your life, and thank the men and women who draw that line in the sand that allow you and yours to sleep peacefully at night.

However, communities can help reduce youth violence by developing a city-wide strategy that combines prevention, intervention, treatment, and re-entry strategies. Organizations like the The National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention work with communities to design these strategies.

Youth violence destroys quality of life and decreases the freedom, health, and prosperity of individuals, families, and communities. Unaddressed youth violence and crime negatively affect our communities' physical, mental, and economic health and challenges our ability to educate, grow, and prosper. Research done has come up with the following:

A New Favorite Christmas Song

With the fiscal and constitutional insanity America is undergoing right now I am constantly seeking ways to relieve stress. Music is one of my absolute favorites, bar none. I'll admit I'm a regular watcher of the Disney Channel, two or three shows, Good Luck Charlie being one of them. Teddy (Bridget Mendler) and Spencer (Shane Harper) are performing a song called "Song for You" on their upcoming Christmas Special. It truly is a beautiful song and Alvin and I just can't get enough of it. I'm sharing it with you today.

Never forget to keep your life balanced and remember what, and who, is most important. Merry Christmas.

Ezra Taft Benson v. Barack Obama

Ezra Taft Benson discusses the communism and socialism dangers facing our society while Barack Obama pushes for and believes in implementing those same dangers in our country.

Doctrine & Covenants 101: 77-80

77 According to the laws and constitution of the people, which I have suffered to be established, and should be maintained for the brights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles;

78 That every man may act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity, according to the moral agency which I have given unto him, that every man may be accountable for his own sins in the day of judgment.

79 Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in abondage one to another.

80 And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood.

What Might Have Been

Had America not been so stupid, this is the article that would have been published at midnight on November 6, 2012. Had 60+ million colossally deceived and deliberately ignorant people not chosen Barack Obama the DOW wouldn't have dropped and 25 and counting companies would not have begun mass layoffs.

The article is simply to good to just delete, instead I'd like to consider that life could have been better for the next four years instead of the economic disaster we are headed for and exceedingly tough times. I'm feeling just snarky enough to want every single person who voted for Barack Obama to be forced to pay down the National Debt. So I took the national debt at 9:15 p.m. MST and divided it by 61,678,367, that's how many idiots voted for Barack Obama. Since you chose socialism, you now own the National Debt in its entirety. So by December 31, 2012 you must pay the federal government $263,405.90. Should work since you're so convinced that Barack Obama did a good job, you must all be rich by now.

In the meantime, this is the article that should have published on November 6, 2012.

MITT ROMNEY WINS AND AMERICA BREATHES A SIGH OF RELIEF

President-Elect Mitt Romney has won with 53% of Americans casting their vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket, and with that, America wins too. Last night, this nation definitively rejected the radical ideologies of the liberal left in America, and embraced the Republic created by the Founding Fathers in 1776. That may seem rather dramatic, but it really was that simple. Big Government, tax hikes and big spending versus states rights, and a smaller, leaner, more efficiently run government.

Mitt Romney asked us to "vote for love of country" and that's just what America did today. He went on to say, "I will not only take office on January 20th of 2013, I will take responsibility." This is the president America deserves.

This has been an election campaign like no other with your regular, every day Americans striking out across the nation to teach others about the wisdom of Mitt Romney's path to prosperity. Even more were on the phones day and night talking to potential voters across the nation. Americans went up against the Obama Machine and walked away with a win in the Romney/Ryan ticket.

State by state chose Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to lead the United States out of the economic quagmire we find ourselves in, and back on the path to prosperity. Romney has a 5-Point Plan, which was slimmed down from a 59-Point Plan, laid out to get America back on track:

1. Energy Independence
2. Helping Americans Gain the Necessary Skills to Succeed
3. Trade Agreements that work for, rather than hurt, America
4. Cut Deficit spending
5. Champion Small Business

These are the areas Mitt Romney hopes to sit down with Congress, pound out the nitty gritty details, and convince them to see things his way. For now, 53% of America is celebrating like we've been given a reprieve, and we have. Let's not squander this opportunity.

So, what are others saying?
"This election was about saving the very soul of America. Two foes fought. One, Barack Obama, was bound and determined to bring America to her knees. The other, President-Elect Mitt Romney, just as determined to not only save America, but to elevate her to her rightful place in the world. President-Elect Mitt Romney is the personification of what America is all about. Hard working, sacrificing, charitable, compassionate and above all a leader in the world today. The right man for the job has been elected. Way to go America for seeing through the facade of Barack Obama and seeing the true knight in shining armor! " L.S. Keilbart, Children's Author (MT)
"America has voted to implement a positive change with a proven leader. Now it's time to roll up our sleeves and work together in restoring the integrity and honor of this great nation. We have so much to do, but I now have a greater hope in the future. I honestly believe that, like our forefathers, Washington, Jefferson, & Lincoln, God has prepared Mitt Romney to lead us into an era of greater prosperity. God bless America! " Melanie Fox (UT)
"The victory of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan has helped to restore my belief in America and enables me as an immigrant to dream of the possibilities once again. We are now pointed in the right direction that will lead us as a nation back to our founding principles, renewing our confidence in the future. These last four years have been dismal with no appearance of the hope and change we were initially promised in ’08. Americans are now awake and fully engaged as we have taken our country back. Let’s begin working to restore this great nation to its former glory as the shining city upon the hill." Tevita Toutai (CA)
"As somebody who supported Ron Paul until the Republican National Convention, it made more sense that Mitt Romney would be the preferred choice in the general election against Barack Obama. Despite any differences between Congressman Paul and Governor Romney, they are closer aligned when it comes to the issues they do agree on. Romney has expressed his own criticism of the Federal Reserve and makes the case for states' rights, two issues that Ron Paul has focused on throughout his Congressional career. One would hope that Governor Romney sticks to these ideas and promises during his upcoming Administration.

This was an important election, and a decision had to be made by America. We know what that decision was, and we can only hope for the best over the next four years." Patrick Holman-Hart (UT)
"I'm elated for Romney's election, yet I'm proud that patriots across America stopped Obama's attack on success and his power grab against states' rights and constitutional freedoms. Capitalism is economic freedom that has proven to be the strength of our economy. It relies on the hard-working competitiveness of free people. America's best days are before us." Sheriff Paul Babeu (AZ, National Sheriff of the Year)
And across the Pond?
"Things do not happen, they are made to happen. And I have full faith that Mitt Romney will be the best president, not only for the United States of America, that the world has ever seen!" Marja van Overdijk-Smulders (Netherlands)
America has a new President-Elect, we stand on the precipice of financial ruin, and as for me, I'm glad America chose a man with the necessary skills to turn this great lady around, fanning the flames of liberty once again.

May I remind the American people that our job is not done, in fact, it's never done. Now we keep a close eye on Washington, D.C. to make sure things start changing to getting America back on solid footing. Make sure you stay in contact with your elected officials, and that includes Mitt Romney.

Open Letter to Speaker John Boehner

Speaker Boehner,

America was dealt a major blow last night. I, for one, could not believe that there were more Americans wanting a free handout than those willing to work for what they have, but I was wrong. Despite the devastation of last night's election and what I believe to be the huge economic cost to our nation, I 'd like to redirect your attention to Benghazi, Libya. What occurred there is unconscionable and, in my opinion, easily rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors.

I don't have to lay out the case for you, because I'm certain you are aware of everything I am, and more. I am asking you to support the investigations of Congressional committees on this matter and make it a priority to bring Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Leon Panetta and Hillary Clinton up on charges of High Crimes and Misdemeanors for not only condemning 20+ Americans to deaths, only reduced to four because of the efforts of two heroes, but the subsequent coverup which has grown to massive proportions.

I ask you to address this matter in an efficient and timely fashion, and realize that Americans not only want answers, we want justice for the loss of the lives of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. You may reach me at or ces@candacesalima.com. I await your reply.

Since I completed my in depth research of Barack Obama in late 2007 I knew that he would be disastrous as president of the United States of America. I began blogging in earnest about the information I was finding, all of it quite alarming to one who loves America as much as I do. Barack Obama won in 2008 and took office on January 20th of 2008. From that moment on the long nightmare America has endured has been rife with disappointment, race wars, class wars, business vs. government, enormous debt, severe violations of the U.S. Constitution, Occupy Wall Street embraced by Obama while the Tea Party was castigated...it has gone on and on. Now, four years later we have:
  • Fallen from #1 to #7 in world competitiveness;
  • Fallen from #3 to #18 in free economies;
  • Suffered 3 credit downgrades, for the first time in American history;
  • Have 53 million Americans on welfare of one sort or another;
  • Have 23 million Americans out of work, and easily triple that who have given up, fallen off the rolls or are underemployed.
  • Have added $6 trillion to the national debt bringing it to a staggering $16 trillion and counting;
  • Have deficit spent to the tune of $1.2 to $1.4 trillion each year of Obama's presidency;
  • Obamacare has raised healthcare costs and is adding 21 new taxes on the American people beginning January 1, 2013;
  • Had the first U.S. Ambassador in 30 years assassinated in an attack on our Libyan consulate along with Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, to date a still unanswered attack;
  • Had 20 U.S. embassies and/or consulates attacked because Obama showed weakness; and,
  • Barack Obama has the worst, weakest foreign policy America has endured since Jimmy Carter.
I could go on, but I really believe that lays out a strong enough case that no thinking American would ever support, let alone vote for Barack Obama.

As such Turning the Tide with Candace Salima formally endorses Mitt Romney for President of the United States of America.

He is a strong candidate with a unique set of skills specifically needed at this time in American history. We stand at a crossroads; we will either choose Barack Obama and complete the slide into socialist European democracy, or we will choose Mitt Romney and return to the values and principles which made America great.

With Romney's skills in business, Olympics and as the governor of Massachusetts, he has a consistent history of taking what is broken, stripping it down and building it back up in a lean, mean fashion that gets it humming and making money. America needs a man of Romney's honor, integrity and skill to lead America out of this unholy mess we find ourselves in.

Romney has proven his ability to reach across the aisle to accomplish the necessary need to mend a broken Congress, I hope, and to unite our nation on the path to prosperity again. Romney is very business friendly, understands the strengths of free enterprise, and is passionate about my key issues; Energy Independence and Championing Small Business.

There is no question in my mind that the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan team is the one that is going to pull America back from the financial cliff we find ourselves precariously perched on the edge of; a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for America, and I ask that you vote for America on November 6th, 2012.

Mitt Romney's Closing Argument

We each have our own reasons for voting. President Obama said voting is the best revenge. Mitt Romney asked supporters to vote for love of country. This Tuesday, what will be your reason for voting?

The Obama Administration: An Unholy Mess

by Candace Salima, Senior Contributor, US Daily Review
posted on 29 October 2012

On September 11, 2012 the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya was attacked. The consulate staff immediately enacted emergency protocol. A flurry of emails were sent to the State Department pleading for rescue. Email after email was sent by the consulate staff ensconced in the safe rooms, while RPGs were being fired into the consulate by terrorists. The State Department chose not to respond, leaving Ambassador Chris Stevens, consulate staff member and former Air Force Captain Sean Smith, and other members of the staff to fend for themselves.

A short distance away, at a CIA safehouse, agents were requesting permission to intervene at the consulate and safe the people inside. They asked for permission to offer aid to the besieged consulate, but were denied. Former U.S. Navy SEAL, Tyrone Woods and at least four others ignored orders and raced to the consulate. Under fire, they rescued the Americans remaining at the consulate and recovered the body of Sean Smith. Ambassador Chris Stevens was already missing by the time they arrived.

They returned to the CIA annex and reported what they’d found and again asked for support. Again they were denied. Read More >>

OPSEC Hits the Obama Administration Hard

The pending broadcast of SEAL Team Six on National Geographic has been heavily edited by Harvey Weinstein to feature a prominent Barack Obama, although he was decidedly absent during the planning and execution process. It has been reported that he was left out of the Osama bin Laden raid until SEAL Team Six was well past the point of no return. That, however, has not stopped Obama from spiking the bin Laden football a number of times as if he'd accompanied the SEALs into the compound and fired the bullets that killed bin Laden himself.

OPSEC, a organization comprised of former special forces and intelligence officers, has taken exception to the loose lips of the Obama Administration which resulted in the deaths of a large crew of Navy SEALs in Afghanistan a week or two after the killing of Osama bin Laden. Angry that SEAL Team Six has been re-edited to a false set of events, OPSEC has released this ad.

According to a press release, the ad seeks to “hit the Obama Administration for not telling the truth about the attacks in Libya that cost the U.S. Ambassador, two former SEALs and another U.S. diplomat their lives while also having politicized the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.”

Accountability for Benghazi, Libya

Kimberly Guilfoyle is reporting that by next week the Administration's fall guy will be chosen and charged. Here's my thought, I hope the American people are not satisfied by this. I don't want the fall guy, I want to know who made what decisions and the appropriate people in prison, for a very long time. Four people are dead. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glenn Doherty did not have to die. Stevens did not have to be raped, murdered, and his body dragged through the streets.

The head of Ansar al-Sharia, the terrorist organization who committed these atrocities sits sipping coffee in a streetside cafe without the slightest concern that the Obama Administration will come after him. And I'll tell you why he has no concern:

The Obama Administration knew the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi Libya was being attacked while it was happening. They chose to not send in military support, and it resulted in the brutal deaths of four Americans. I am horrified by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, his administration and the media for the callousness they've displayed in dealing with the the brutal murders of four Americans. The first U.S. Ambassador to be murdered in 30 years, and likely the first one to ever be raped. And ABC/NBC/CBS remain deaf, dumb, and mute. FoxNews has covered it extensively. MSNBC and CNN, very little. And they keep on saying the American people don't care. I care. I care very much and I want answers and accountability.

13-Year Old Jenny Gives Reports Card to Romney/Obama

Jenny is a 13-year-old 8th grader who's been interested in politics for a couple of years. She was confused about the claims of the Democrats and the claims of the Republicans. So, she decided to look at the facts and do a report card for President Barack Obama and one for Governor Mitt Romney. She compared them and now presents her findings in this video.

As a side note, I love this little girl. She has an amazing grasp of the facts.

Mitt Romney at the Al Smith Dinner

Mitt Romney did a great job last night at the Al Smith Dinner. I'm thinking Dennis Miller wrote the jokes that the Governor delivered with perfect aplomb. It's just a guess, whoever wrote the jokes did a fabulous job. Enjoy.

And this may be the only time I'm willing to post anything more by Barack Obama on my blog. Unlike Mitt Romney, everyone knows I simply cannot abide the man. Methinks Dennis Miller should have written these jokes too, because these were not as amusing. Enjoy.

I am a Woman and I support Mitt Romney!

I am a woman and I support Mitt Romney

I am a Senior Contributor at www.usdailyreview.com, a Director in the doTERRA IPC organization, a public speaker and an author. I also host my own show, Turning the Tide with Candace Salima, doing specials which are posted exclusively on my YouTube channel. And last, but in no way least, I am a woman and I support Mitt Romney.

Liberal talking heads say that Mitt Romney was on the wrong side of equal pay in Tuesday's debate. Really? Because nearly half his cabinet were women and they were paid commensurate with their experience, education and abilities. Barack Obama, on the other hand, grossly underpays the women in his cabinet and according to Valerie Jarrett, fosters a hostile workplace in the White House.

So tell me this, Mitt Romney has proven with his actions that he values women, Barack Obama has proven with his that he does not. Where's the question?

Mitt Romney Wins 2nd Debate and This is Why

Urgent Message from Dick Morris

Dear Reader:

Mitt Romney won the second debate with Barack Obama!

Frankly, Obama's attacks against Romney were nothing less than pathetic. Perhaps the major turning point in the debate — the "aha" moment for millions of undecided Americans — was when Mitt Romney so eloquently listed the key statistics of Obama's record.

The facts about Barack Obama's record are simply indisputable — and disastrous! I have been urging publicly that Romney's campaign focus on Obama's record, not just in public utterances but in campaign ads as well.

This is why — just before the debate — I worked with Super PAC for America to release a powerful new ad that cuts through the political spin and directly cuts to the bone. This ad was released just days before Romney's performance — but it sounded just like Romney's recap of Obama's job performance statistics.

Super PAC for America is dedicated to go directly to the American people to expose Barack Obama for the almost total failure his administration has been. The Super PAC’s 30-second ad opens with a black screen and, in total silence, the following indisputable statistics scroll up on the screen:

—23 Million Unemployed or Underemployed
—47 Million on Food Stamps
—5.5 Million Homes in Crisis/Foreclosure
—$4500 Drop in Household Income
—$5.5 Trillion of New Debt
—$716 Billion in Medicare Cuts
—$2.6 Trillion for Obamacare
—$1.9 Trillion in New Taxes in Obama’s Budget
—100% Increase in Gas Prices

In the middle of this scroll, a roar begins to be heard chanting "Four more years, four more years . . . "

And then when the scroll ends, the chanting ends and a voice comes on and says, "Four more years of this?

"You've got to be kidding!"

The Super PAC for America urgently needs your help to place this ad in key swing state markets across the nation.

No group is running such clear and powerful ads, not even the Romney campaign. That's why I decided to join Mike Reagan, national chairman of Super PAC for America. Mike believes like I do that we can't leave it to chance that Obama's record will be fully exposed.

Mike has also reached out to key advisers who were close to his dad, President Reagan, and helped him win two national elections by a landslide.

Mike is using Super PAC to put together a winning formula to defeat Barack Obama. Mike asked me to serve as Chief Strategist for Super PAC and devise the ads that will speak directly to the American people.

What I like most about Super PAC is that it is not afraid to speak the truth. In the 2010 Congressional elections, Super PAC for America raised millions and played a role in dozens of close House races.

I believe Super PAC was crucial in helping the GOP win a landslide in the 2010 elections.

When I was watching the debate last night and heard Mitt Romney finally and powerfully recite the "facts" that will end Obama's presidency, I said to myself, "YES!"

It was as if Mitt Romney watched our Super PAC ad and finally got the message. All we need to defeat Barack Obama is to tell the American people the facts, simply, honestly, repeatedly.

Here's how Mitt Romney put it in the debate Tuesday night:

"I can tell you that if you were to elect President Obama, you know what you’re going to get. You’re going to get a repeat of the last four years. . .

"He said that by now we’d have unemployment at 5.4 percent. The difference between where it is and 5.4 percent is 9 million Americans without work.

"I wasn’t the one that said 5.4 percent. This was the president’s plan — didn’t get there.

"He said he would have by now put forward a plan to reform Medicare and Social Security because he pointed out they’re on the road to bankruptcy. He would reform them. He’d get that done.

"He hasn’t even made a proposal on either one.

"He said in his first year he’d put out an immigration plan that would deal with our immigration challenges — didn’t even file it.

"This is a president who has not been able to do what he said he’d do. He said that he’d cut in half the deficit. He hasn’t done that either. In fact, he doubled it. "He said that by now middle-income families would have a reduction in their health insurance premiums by $2,500 a year. It’s gone up by $2,500 a year. And if 'Obamacare' is passed — or implemented, it’s already been passed — if it’s implemented fully, it’ll be another $2,500 on top.

"The middle class is getting crushed under the policies of a president who has not understood what it takes to get the economy working again. He keeps saying, look, I’ve created 5 million jobs.

"That’s after losing 5 million jobs. The entire record is such that the unemployment has not been reduced in this country.

"The unemployment, the number of people who are still looking for work, is still 23 million Americans.

"There are more people in poverty — one out of six people in poverty.

"How about food stamps? When he took office, 32 million people were on food stamps; today 47 million people are on food stamps.

"How about the growth of the economy? It’s growing more slowly this year than last year and more slowly last year than the year before.

"The president wants to do well; I understand. But the policies he’s put in place, from 'Obamacare' to Dodd-Frank to his tax policies to his regulatory policies — these policies combined have not let this economy take off and grow like it could have." Well, all I can say is "BRAVO Mitt!"

Mitt Romney was eloquent and persuasive.

But now the debate is over and the spin has started.

Some liberal media groups even had "snap" polls taken saying Obama won the debate! And the major news networks are trying to once again to confuse voters about the real issues.

This makes the job of Super PAC for America so important.

Mike Reagan and I and the thousands of donors to Super PAC for America realize this is a fight for the future of America.

I can't even contemplate a future led by a second-term President Obama We must stop him. We can stop him.

Now is our moment. Help us in this cause today. Time is short!

Thank you.
Yours for America,
Dick Morris

Paul Ryan v. Joe Biden, the Laughing Buffoon

On October 11th we watched Congressman Paul Ryan, the head of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress debate Vice-President Joe Biden, who gave a remarkable imitation of a laughing buffoon. Here, Congressman Ryan speaks of the fiscal discipline necessary to get America back on the road to economic recovery.

Mitt Romney FOREIGN POLICY ADDRESS TO THE VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE

I particularly appreciate the introduction from my good friend and tireless campaign companion, Gov. Bob McDonnell. He is showing what conservative leadership can do to build a stronger economy. Thank you also Congressman Goodlatte for joining us today. And particular thanks to Gen. Peay. I appreciate your invitation to be with you today at the Virginia Military Institute. It is a great privilege to be here at an Institution that has done so much for our nation, both in war and in peace.

For more than 170 years, VMI has done more than educate students. It has guided their transformation into citizens, and warriors, and leaders. VMI graduates have served with honor in our nation’s defense, just as many are doing today in Afghanistan and other lands. Since the September 11th attacks, many of VMI’s sons and daughters have defended America, and I mourn with you the 15 brave souls who have been lost. I join you in praying for the many VMI graduates and all Americans who are now serving in harm’s way. May God bless all who serve, and all who have served.

Of all the VMI graduates, none is more distinguished than George Marshall—the Chief of Staff of the Army who became Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense, who helped to vanquish fascism and then planned Europe’s rescue from despair. His commitment to peace was born of his direct knowledge of the awful costs and consequences of war.

General Marshall once said, “The only way human beings can win a war is to prevent it.” Those words were true in his time—and they still echo in ours.

Last month, our nation was attacked again. A U.S. Ambassador and three of our fellow Americans are dead—murdered in Benghazi, Libya. Among the dead were three veterans. All of them were fine men, on a mission of peace and friendship to a nation that dearly longs for both. President Obama has said that Ambassador Chris Stevens and his colleagues represented the best of America. And he is right. We all mourn their loss.

The attacks against us in Libya were not an isolated incident. They were accompanied by anti-American riots in nearly two dozen other countries, mostly in the Middle East, but also in Africa and Asia. Our embassies have been attacked. Our flag has been burned. Many of our citizens have been threatened and driven from their overseas homes by vicious mobs, shouting “Death to America.” These mobs hoisted the black banner of Islamic extremism over American embassies on the anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

As the dust settles, as the murdered are buried, Americans are asking how this happened, how the threats we face have grown so much worse, and what this calls on America to do. These are the right questions. And I have come here today to offer a larger perspective on these tragic recent events—and to share with you, and all Americans, my vision for a freer, more prosperous, and more peaceful world.

The attacks on America last month should not be seen as random acts. They are expressions of a larger struggle that is playing out across the broader Middle East—a region that is now in the midst of the most profound upheaval in a century. And the fault lines of this struggle can be seen clearly in Benghazi itself.

The attack on our Consulate in Benghazi on September 11th, 2012 was likely the work of forces affiliated with those that attacked our homeland on September 11th, 2001. This latest assault cannot be blamed on a reprehensible video insulting Islam, despite the Administration’s attempts to convince us of that for so long. No, as the Administration has finally conceded, these attacks were the deliberate work of terrorists who use violence to impose their dark ideology on others, especially women and girls; who are fighting to control much of the Middle East today; and who seek to wage perpetual war on the West.

We saw all of this in Benghazi last month—but we also saw something else, something hopeful. After the attack on our Consulate, tens of thousands of Libyans, most of them young people, held a massive protest in Benghazi against the very extremists who murdered our people. They waved signs that read, “The Ambassador was Libya’s friend” and “Libya is sorry.” They chanted “No to militias.” They marched, unarmed, to the terrorist compound. Then they burned it to the ground. As one Libyan woman said, “We are not going to go from darkness to darkness.”

This is the struggle that is now shaking the entire Middle East to its foundation. It is the struggle of millions and millions of people—men and women, young and old, Muslims, Christians and non-believers—all of whom have had enough of the darkness. It is a struggle for the dignity that comes with freedom, and opportunity, and the right to live under laws of our own making. It is a struggle that has unfolded under green banners in the streets of Iran, in the public squares of Tunisia and Egypt and Yemen, and in the fights for liberty in Iraq, and Afghanistan, and Libya, and now Syria. In short, it is a struggle between liberty and tyranny, justice and oppression, hope and despair.

We have seen this struggle before. It would be familiar to George Marshall. In his time, in the ashes of world war, another critical part of the world was torn between democracy and despotism. Fortunately, we had leaders of courage and vision, both Republicans and Democrats, who knew that America had to support friends who shared our values, and prevent today’s crises from becoming tomorrow’s conflicts.

Statesmen like Marshall rallied our nation to rise to its responsibilities as the leader of the free world. We helped our friends to build and sustain free societies and free markets. We defended our friends, and ourselves, from our common enemies. We led. And though the path was long and uncertain, the thought of war in Europe is as inconceivable today as it seemed inevitable in the last century.

This is what makes America exceptional: It is not just the character of our country—it is the record of our accomplishments. America has a proud history of strong, confident, principled global leadership—a history that has been written by patriots of both parties. That is America at its best. And it is the standard by which we measure every President, as well as anyone who wishes to be President. Unfortunately, this President’s policies have not been equal to our best examples of world leadership. And nowhere is this more evident than in the Middle East.

I want to be very clear: The blame for the murder of our people in Libya, and the attacks on our embassies in so many other countries, lies solely with those who carried them out—no one else. But it is the responsibility of our President to use America’s great power to shape history—not to lead from behind, leaving our destiny at the mercy of events. Unfortunately, that is exactly where we find ourselves in the Middle East under President Obama.

The relationship between the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of Israel, our closest ally in the region, has suffered great strains. The President explicitly stated that his goal was to put “daylight” between the United States and Israel. And he has succeeded. This is a dangerous situation that has set back the hope of peace in the Middle East and emboldened our mutual adversaries, especially Iran.

Iran today has never been closer to a nuclear weapons capability. It has never posed a greater danger to our friends, our allies, and to us. And it has never acted less deterred by America, as was made clear last year when Iranian agents plotted to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador in our nation’s capital. And yet, when millions of Iranians took to the streets in June of 2009, when they demanded freedom from a cruel regime that threatens the world, when they cried out, “Are you with us, or are you with them?”—the American President was silent.

Across the greater Middle East, as the joy born from the downfall of dictators has given way to the painstaking work of building capable security forces, and growing economies, and developing democratic institutions, the President has failed to offer the tangible support that our partners want and need.

In Iraq, the costly gains made by our troops are being eroded by rising violence, a resurgent Al-Qaeda, the weakening of democracy in Baghdad, and the rising influence of Iran. And yet, America’s ability to influence events for the better in Iraq has been undermined by the abrupt withdrawal of our entire troop presence. The President tried—and failed—to secure a responsible and gradual drawdown that would have better secured our gains.

The President has failed to lead in Syria, where more than 30,000 men, women, and children have been massacred by the Assad regime over the past 20 months. Violent extremists are flowing into the fight. Our ally Turkey has been attacked. And the conflict threatens stability in the region.

America can take pride in the blows that our military and intelligence professionals have inflicted on Al-Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan, including the killing of Osama bin Laden. These are real achievements won at a high cost. But Al-Qaeda remains a strong force in Yemen and Somalia, in Libya and other parts of North Africa, in Iraq, and now in Syria. And other extremists have gained ground across the region. Drones and the modern instruments of war are important tools in our fight, but they are no substitute for a national security strategy for the Middle East.

The President is fond of saying that “The tide of war is receding.” And I want to believe him as much as anyone. But when we look at the Middle East today—with Iran closer than ever to nuclear weapons capability, with the conflict in Syria threatening to destabilize the region, with violent extremists on the march, and with an American Ambassador and three others dead likely at the hands of Al-Qaeda affiliates— it is clear that the risk of conflict in the region is higher now than when the President took office.

I know the President hopes for a safer, freer, and a more prosperous Middle East allied with the United States. I share this hope. But hope is not a strategy. We cannot support our friends and defeat our enemies in the Middle East when our words are not backed up by deeds, when our defense spending is being arbitrarily and deeply cut, when we have no trade agenda to speak of, and the perception of our strategy is not one of partnership, but of passivity.

The greater tragedy of it all is that we are missing an historic opportunity to win new friends who share our values in the Middle East—friends who are fighting for their own futures against the very same violent extremists, and evil tyrants, and angry mobs who seek to harm us. Unfortunately, so many of these people who could be our friends feel that our President is indifferent to their quest for freedom and dignity. As one Syrian woman put it, “We will not forget that you forgot about us.”

It is time to change course in the Middle East. That course should be organized around these bedrock principles: America must have confidence in our cause, clarity in our purpose and resolve in our might. No friend of America will question our commitment to support them… no enemy that attacks America will question our resolve to defeat them… and no one anywhere, friend or foe, will doubt America’s capability to back up our words.

I will put the leaders of Iran on notice that the United States and our friends and allies will prevent them from acquiring nuclear weapons capability. I will not hesitate to impose new sanctions on Iran, and will tighten the sanctions we currently have. I will restore the permanent presence of aircraft carrier task forces in both the Eastern Mediterranean and the Gulf region—and work with Israel to increase our military assistance and coordination. For the sake of peace, we must make clear to Iran through actions—not just words—that their nuclear pursuit will not be tolerated.

I will reaffirm our historic ties to Israel and our abiding commitment to its security—the world must never see any daylight between our two nations.

I will deepen our critical cooperation with our partners in the Gulf.

And I will roll back President Obama’s deep and arbitrary cuts to our national defense that would devastate our military. I will make the critical defense investments that we need to remain secure. The decisions we make today will determine our ability to protect America tomorrow. The first purpose of a strong military is to prevent war.

The size of our Navy is at levels not seen since 1916. I will restore our Navy to the size needed to fulfill our missions by building 15 ships per year, including three submarines. I will implement effective missile defenses to protect against threats. And on this, there will be no flexibility with Vladimir Putin. And I will call on our NATO allies to keep the greatest military alliance in history strong by honoring their commitment to each devote 2 percent of their GDP to security spending. Today, only 3 of the 28 NATO nations meet this benchmark.

I will make further reforms to our foreign assistance to create incentives for good governance, free enterprise, and greater trade, in the Middle East and beyond. I will organize all assistance efforts in the greater Middle East under one official with responsibility and accountability to prioritize efforts and produce results. I will rally our friends and allies to match our generosity with theirs. And I will make it clear to the recipients of our aid that, in return for our material support, they must meet the responsibilities of every decent modern government—to respect the rights of all of their citizens, including women and minorities… to ensure space for civil society, a free media, political parties, and an independent judiciary… and to abide by their international commitments to protect our diplomats and our property.

I will champion free trade and restore it as a critical element of our strategy, both in the Middle East and across the world. The President has not signed one new free trade agreement in the past four years. I will reverse that failure. I will work with nations around the world that are committed to the principles of free enterprise, expanding existing relationships and establishing new ones.

I will support friends across the Middle East who share our values, but need help defending them and their sovereignty against our common enemies.

In Libya, I will support the Libyan people’s efforts to forge a lasting government that represents all of them, and I will vigorously pursue the terrorists who attacked our consulate in Benghazi and killed Americans.

In Egypt, I will use our influence—including clear conditions on our aid—to urge the new government to represent all Egyptians, to build democratic institutions, and to maintain its peace treaty with Israel. And we must persuade our friends and allies to place similar stipulations on their aid.

In Syria, I will work with our partners to identify and organize those members of the opposition who share our values and ensure they obtain the arms they need to defeat Assad’s tanks, helicopters, and fighter jets. Iran is sending arms to Assad because they know his downfall would be a strategic defeat for them. We should be working no less vigorously with our international partners to support the many Syrians who would deliver that defeat to Iran—rather than sitting on the sidelines. It is essential that we develop influence with those forces in Syria that will one day lead a country that sits at the heart of the Middle East.

And in Afghanistan, I will pursue a real and successful transition to Afghan security forces by the end of 2014. President Obama would have you believe that anyone who disagrees with his decisions in Afghanistan is arguing for endless war. But the route to more war – and to potential attacks here at home – is a politically timed retreat that abandons the Afghan people to the same extremists who ravaged their country and used it to launch the attacks of 9/11. I will evaluate conditions on the ground and weigh the best advice of our military commanders. And I will affirm that my duty is not to my political prospects, but to the security of the nation.

Finally, I will recommit America to the goal of a democratic, prosperous Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with the Jewish state of Israel. On this vital issue, the President has failed, and what should be a negotiation process has devolved into a series of heated disputes at the United Nations. In this old conflict, as in every challenge we face in the Middle East, only a new President will bring the chance to begin anew.

There is a longing for American leadership in the Middle East—and it is not unique to that region. It is broadly felt by America’s friends and allies in other parts of the world as well— in Europe, where Putin’s Russia casts a long shadow over young democracies, and where our oldest allies have been told we are “pivoting” away from them … in Asia and across the Pacific, where China’s recent assertiveness is sending chills through the region … and here in our own hemisphere, where our neighbors in Latin America want to resist the failed ideology of Hugo Chavez and the Castro brothers and deepen ties with the United States on trade, energy, and security. But in all of these places, just as in the Middle East, the question is asked: “Where does America stand?”

I know many Americans are asking a different question: “Why us?” I know many Americans are asking whether our country today—with our ailing economy, and our massive debt, and after 11 years at war—is still capable of leading.

I believe that if America does not lead, others will—others who do not share our interests and our values—and the world will grow darker, for our friends and for us. America’s security and the cause of freedom cannot afford four more years like the last four years. I am running for President because I believe the leader of the free world has a duty, to our citizens, and to our friends everywhere, to use America’s great influence—wisely, with solemnity and without false pride, but also firmly and actively—to shape events in ways that secure our interests, further our values, prevent conflict, and make the world better—not perfect, but better.

Our friends and allies across the globe do not want less American leadership. They want more—more of our moral support, more of our security cooperation, more of our trade, and more of our assistance in building free societies and thriving economies. So many people across the world still look to America as the best hope of humankind. So many people still have faith in America. We must show them that we still have faith in ourselves—that we have the will and the wisdom to revive our stagnant economy, to roll back our unsustainable debt, to reform our government, to reverse the catastrophic cuts now threatening our national defense, to renew the sources of our great power, and to lead the course of human events.

Sir Winston Churchill once said of George Marshall: “He … always fought victoriously against defeatism, discouragement, and disillusion.” That is the role our friends want America to play again. And it is the role we must play.

The 21st century can and must be an American century. It began with terror, war, and economic calamity. It is our duty to steer it onto the path of freedom, peace, and prosperity.

The torch America carries is one of decency and hope. It is not America’s torch alone. But it is America’s duty – and honor – to hold it high enough that all the world can see its light.

Thank you, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.
