First, here's a funny video, "I wanna be a Bestseller" (spoof of "I Wanna be a Rockstar"). Directed and edited by Stephanie Fowers, author of Meet Your Match and Rules of Engagement. Lyrics written by Heather Moore and Crystal Liechty.
As usual, the conference was amazing. I taught a marketing class and sat on an online marketing panel, but I was just as excited as everyone elseto take classes from authors, publishers, editors, agents, etc. Every year I learn more and walk away from there a little bit better. As one who tries to constantly hone her craft, it is a huge boost to the creative process.
This year, we held the writers conference at the Provo Marriott who did a stellar job in providing a first class venue. The organizers of the conference were able to focus completely on the presentations and classes without worrying about the venue. So thank you so much to the directors and managers of Provo Marriott . . . you made a huge difference!
And so the Storymaker Conference has ended for another year and Tristi Pinkston and Jaime Theler have begun planning on the next.
In the meantime, teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 years old will want to attend the Teen Writers Conference in Ogden, Utah. This is also hosted by a number of LDS Storymakers, all published authors of course, so it a course teenagers who wish to write will not want to miss.
