Women’s organization endorses proven conservative with impressive legislative experience in Utah’s newest Congressional District

Washington, D.C. — Concerned Women Political Action Committee (CWPAC) has announced its endorsement of Utah State Representative Carl Wimmer for the new Congressional seat in Utah.

Concerned Women PAC, established in 2002 by Founder and Chairman Beverly LaHaye, is affiliated with Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization with more than 500,000 grassroots members nationwide.

While the new Congressional district lines have yet to be finalized, it is expected that Representative Wimmer will live inside the district. Over the last several years, if there has been a vote on a pro-life issue, Representative Wimmer has been the lead sponsor and the driving force behind the effort. He led the successful efforts to pass ultra-sound legislation and bills that would increase common sense inspections of abortion clinics. He also led a successful effort that allows medical professionals to exercise their right to not participate in abortion due to religious, moral, or ethical reasons.

What Barack Obama left OUT of his speech

I grow weary of the pontificating taking place on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The Democrats want to keep wildly spending with no restrictions. The Republicans are playing at making cuts, but none of them real. In the meantime, here are the things Barack Obama conveniently left out of his brief speech of casting blame:

1. The economic growth of America for the last six months is a dismal 1.3% under Barack Obama and Harry Reid's watch. Why do I say under their watch? Because Republicans have passed plan after plan all to be stalled in the U.S. Senate by Senator Harry Reid. Thanks, Nevada, really appreciate the stumbling block you gave us! But Obama didn't think it important to include that in his speech.

2. Democrats had four years to rectify our now $14.5 trillion debt. But instead, they added almost $4 trillion to it, and want to add another $2.4 trillion without the rectifying of our grossly bloated government and their spending habits. But NOW they find it convenient to be on television 24/7 pointing the finger at Republicans. But I haven't forgotten the last three years, nor have I forgotten four of the last four-and-a-half years had Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid at the helm of this economic American Titanic. But that also was not important enough for Barack Obama to mention in his speech.

3. The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the Cut, Cap & Balance Act on July 19, 2011 (Daily Caller) and sent it over to Harry Reid in the U.S. Senate. What did Reid do with it? He and the Senate Democrats tabled it instead of listening to the persuasive, accurate, and passionate argument by Senator Mike Lee:

4. Not only has Barack Obama completely ignored the fact that Republicans are working day and night to solve not only the budget crisis, but the debt juggernaut as well, he's actively doing his best to kill any effort to begin whittling down our astronomical debt. Instead, Barack Obama, in collusion with Harry Reid, conspired to block every effort of the Republicans, to somehow keep from passing a budget through the next presidential election. Especially if that budget curtailed spending, and tried to start whittling down that same $14.5 trillion debt. 

5. Not only are they opposed to bringing the wild spending under control and to strictly limit themselves to the boundaries of a budget. They are bitterly opposed to Senator Mike Lee's Balanced Budget Amendment.

Obama says, "We don't need a Balanced Budget Amendment, Congress just needs to do its job."

No kidding! That's the whole point, Congress hasn't done its job in decades, possibly even well over a century. Congress is never going to do its job because they are more concerned with their political futures than the future of America.

While I believe we will need the repeal of the 14th, 16th, and 17th Amendments before a Balanced Budget Amendment to truly work well, I completely support the Balanced Budget Amendment because each new amendment supersedes the ones before.

Moving on to my next point:

6. An excellent question was posed on FoxNews this morning by a viewer: "When can we look forward to seeing the debt clock ticking downward instead of spiraling upward?" You just can't put it any more plainly than that! There are no plans on the table that significantly cut our $14.5 trillion debt. Not Boehner's. Not Cut, Cap & Balance. Not Harry Reid's. Not Mitch McConnell's. Not Barack Obama's "never put it on paper" plan.

6. Yesterday, Charles Krauthammer, someone I usually respect, joined the Democrat litany of bashing conservatives across the board and telling them to just vote for Boehner's grand plan, which still does not do what is needed to keep America's credit from being downgraded. John McCain compared hard-working conservative Americans to Tolkein's "hobbits." Harry Reid called the same Americans "tea party extremists." And here's the conclusion I've drawn from that litany: We've been too successful in stopping the Obama agenda, although not successful enough. And believe me when I say, we are not stopping and no amount of grade school-style bullying will slow us down.

7. And that brings us to Standard & Poor and Moodys. Standard & Poor has said, very clearly, that unless they see a budget with real cuts to the tune of $9 to 10 trillion, they will downgrade America's credit. Again, none of the plans on the table, listed above, come ANYWHERE near to this. But still, the pontificating goes on, on Capitol Hill while they play at the crisis--while doing absolutely nothing!

So let's look what can be done!

A. Discretionary spending is 39% of federal budget. (White House)  Discretionary spending is that part of the U.S. Federal Budget that is negotiated between the President and Congress each year as part of the budget process. It includes everything that is not in the mandatory budget, which are programs required by law to provide certain benefits, such as Social Security and Medicare." (FY 2012 Discretionary Federal Budget by Kimberly Amadeo)

Discretionary spending for 2012 is anticipated to be $1.3 trillion dollars. Now keep in mind, discretionary funding is a slush fund. It doesn't touch the budget of the 495 federal departments (and those are the ones we know about.) Barack Obama's budget had a $1.56 trillion deficit. That leaves us with a deficit still, so lets keep cutting.

So we have 39% cut already.

B. Foreign aid is 1% of the federal budget according to the White House, and is taken out the defense budget. So there's a cut the Democrats should be able to get behind. Tack that on and we've cut 40% of the federal budget and not added to the federal debt. In fact, we are now to the good and can take that extra and apply it to the debt. Now let's get down to actual numbers on three federal departments I think should be shut down permanently.

C. There is no need for the Department of Education ($535 billion,) the EPA ($3.8 billion,) and the Department of Agriculture ($149 billion) to be at the federal level. None whatsoever. If these responsibilities are given back to the states we will cut from the federal budget $687.8 billion. The states will take those responsibilities and make them profitable, as they are wont to do, and it's a huge win for 10th Amendment rights of the states.

So in essence, I have cut a monstrously huge amount of the federal budget without touching Social Security and Medicare. If we raise the Social Security retirement age two years, we save even more money. Cut the fraud from Medicare, and we save $60 billion more.

In other words, what is going on in Washington, D.C. has nothing to do with getting America back on track and everything to do with continuing the political games they have been playing for centuries! So here's my suggestion, call your congressmen, senators and the White House and tell them to stop playing politics and get down to the real business of getting the budget, deficits, and debt seriously under control.

And on that note, let's leave with a thought from Aristotle, 

"It is also in the interests of a tyrant to keep his people poor, so that they may not be able to afford the cost of protecting themselves by arms and be so occupied with their daily tasks that they have no time for rebellion.”

A Cause Worth Perfecting

With the news that Michelle Obama was in Utah today, AND she raised $420,000 from gullible Utahns who apparently have not paid attention to what has been going on in America for the last three years, I've been pondering quite a bit.

You all know I am the co-host (to Tim Aalders) of KTALK AM 630's Buy Back America. It is an honor and privilege to be on air 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, talking of the state of America's Main Street, K Street, Washington, D.C. as a whole, the Obama Administration, Congress, conservatives and liberals throughout the nation, promoting small business, etc. Through the course of these months, as America's economic and constitutional positions have grown more and more precarious, there has been a sense of urgency growing in the conservative movement across the nation. This is an urgency that is 10-fold in my own heart.

I know I cannot save America by myself. I know there are millions across America joined in this great cause to preserve the Republic from those who would replace it with communism. FreedomWorks, Tea Party Express, GOOOH, Club for Growth, Tea Party Patriots, Sons of Liberty, 9/12ers, conservatives from all parties, and others who do not affiliate but are paying attention, contacting their elected officials, and voting. 

I am constantly reminded these stress levels will kill me, so I try to exercise (although the back injury is getting in the way of that) and try do the things that will reduce stress as I engage in this battle every day. So to return to my original pondering, just what is a cause worth perfecting?

It is that cause which lights the fire of truth, patriotism, or spirituality in your heart. A family is worth preserving. God's gospel, and kingdom, is worth preserving. And I believe that America is worth preserving. That nation which was birthed from great sacrifice, both as a people and a nation. Growing pains that at times brought us to war, and at times brought us to our greatest moments. For me, my life's missions have grown to but a scant few: God, family, and America. I will carry those lights in my heart to the grave and beyond. This is how much they mean to me.

So back to my news about Michelle Obama's effectiveness in Utah. Liberals are opening their pockets to further the destruction of America, to fundamentally change the government our Founding Fathers created for us.

The U.S. Constitution was a divinely inspired document and is, bar none, the greatest document written in the history of the world. Note I said document, and not book. And yes, I know about the 3/5ths clause, which is abhorrent to me. However, I know the reason that it was put there, and I know it was supposed to sunset out. The ONLY clause in the Constitution that was to sunset out. It took a Civil War, with the Republicans on the side of the Emancipation Proclamation, laying their lives down to not only preserve the nation, but to also bring real meaning to the "all men are created equal" constitutional clause. It's taken more than a century to get Americans to the point where they accept that.

However, Barack Hussein Obama has divided the races more fully than they have been in decades. We are no longer Americans, but African-American, Hispanic-America, Arab-America, etc. and in so doing has weakened us through those divisions. Through Obama's policies our civil liberties are being stripped away and the ACLU remains silent. Through Obama's policies our constitutional rights are going down, one by one, and Congress remains ineffective. Through Obama's policies the Republic is under direct attack and weakening, and the whole of America is still not engaged in this battle. And the reason they remain silent is because they have one, and only cause, to strip freedom from every single American.

No matter where we turn, we are under attack. And we are fighting back, but until we unite we remain weak and able to be defeated. This is why I not only got so fully behind the Declaration of Restoration, I helped to create it. I have made it my cause, a cause worth perfecting, to promote and deliver the message of the Declaration of Restoration as far and as widely as I can. But I cannot do it by myself, and neither can Tim Aalders.

I am asking you to join with me in this effort to restore America. I need your help in spreading the word. I need people to join the cause. I need them to Like the video. I need them to read the Declaration of Restoration and sign their name to it if these words ring as clearly in your hearts as they have in mine. All of these things take no more than a few moments of your time, as a whole. But most of all, and I understand if it is not within your means at this time, I need people to donate to the cause, at least $5.00. 

Tim and I are taking this message across the nation, to 33 American cities, to hand-deliver the Declaration of Restoration to Congress and so much more!

Can we equal the efforts of the liberals in their destruction of America, but to the preserving of America? I am giving it my all, I do not ask you to do the same. I ask you to support me in this cause and I can be the face of the fight. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with all who wish to be on the front lines of this fight, and I will represent those who don't.

Day 5: The Final Hour...Well, Not Really

Today's show was intriguing. Darcy Van Orden co-hosted with me on Buy Back America. We discussed human resources, i.e., how to get a job, how to keep a job, how to be a good employee. In the second segment we talked about the Cap, Cut & Balance Act. The analogy I came up with was simply this: Only $111 billion cuts for 2012 is like spitting in the Mississippi River and expecting the flow of water to reverse direction! But nobody's listening to me on that one. 

Anyway, Mike Swenson of Utah Shared Access Alliance joined us for the final hour and we talked land issues and how it ties into every aspect of this fight for America.

Yup, you saw right. Representative Carl Wimmer is joining me in studio to be my co-host tomorrow. Rep. Wimmer just announced his intention to run for Utah's 4th Congressional seat and once the redistricting is completed he will begin running in earnest. In the meantime, he's taking time out of his busy schedule to join me in studio and help me out on Buy Back America while Tim is out on Trek still sweatin' it out in the Wyoming desert.

And by the way, Carl. I am seriously bummed you saved that mustache off! It looked great! But I digress.

About Carl Wimmer:

Carl was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in 2006 and has very much enjoyed his service in state government. He is a conservative in Utah's state legislature.

Carl co-founded The Patrick Henry Caucus in mid-2009 and has been featured on The Glenn Beck TV show twice, The Mike Church radio show and dozens of other radio shows around the country. He is the founder of the national Patrick Henry Caucus. The formation of The Patrick Henry Caucus was first announced by Carl himself, on the Glenn Beck T.V. Program. As a matter of fact, Carl has been on the Glenn Beck program multiple times, and has been a guest with Judge Andrew Napolitano as well.

Carl has also been on various radio programs throughout the country including Mike Church, Andrew Wilkow and Allen Colmes talking about issues such as state rights, gun rights and abortion.

He is the Chairman of the Utah Family Action Council, which is a coalition of every major conservative and family based organization in Utah.

Carl is a true political conservative who believes in less government, constitutional principles, and more freedom. To him these are a way of life, not a talking points simply to earn votes. His favorite quote is also my favorite quotes, by Patrick Henry himself:

Prior to becoming a state representative, Carl worked as a police officer from 1996-2007. He co-founded the South Jordan SWAT team, and served as a team leader for many years. Carl still considers his police and SWAT service one of the highlights of his life.

And on a completely different note, Carl has a passion for weightlifting, and holds several Utah state records in the sport of Powerlfiting. He has won multiple world championships in the benchpress with a personal best of 554 lb.

So yes, my co-host tomorrow is quite the amazing man and it should make for great radio as we discuss the issues facing Utah and America on the air.

This is a volative issue in Utah as 70% of our lands have been co-opted by the federal government. The government those lands riches in all resources which could bring Utah completely out of the recession and help neighboring states to the do the same. But the EPA and the Obama Administration refuse to turn loose of the land.

The last two days have been interesting, and each more intriguing than the last. We all have been working hard to make each show engaging, informative and entertaining.

Former senatorial candidate Cherilyn Eager joins me at Buy Back America to talk land issues here in the state of Utah. We will continue this conversation on land issues on Thursday with Michael Swenson of the Utah Shared Alliance. But Cherilyn kicks the topic off.

Declaration of Restoration for America

Please, I am asking each of you to help spread the word about the Declaration of Restoration across America as we recreate Reagan's "morning in America" again. “When in the course of human events…” these words began the creation of a nation which surpassed all others in the world. This monumental, historical document went on to say, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” It was just 235 years ago, the Declaration of Independence was written, and the grievances listed then are nearly the same today. With a federal government completely out of control, the national deficit spiraling painfully upward with no signs of stopping, the American people have had enough…but sadly, Washington, D.C. has not.

Radio talk show host, Tim Aalders, lost everything to the economic downturn of 2008, and he turned to the radio to share his views on the current state of affairs. Washington, D.C.’s out-of-control spending, over regulation, constant overstepping of its constitutional bounds, unbalanced trade agreements, and how it all affects Main Street, America became the overriding message of Buy Back America. What began in a friend’s basement, grew to the most popular show on Utah’s KTALK AM 630, three hours a day, five days a week, with 1.5 million listeners all over the United States.

One day, on air, Tim and I were discussing the fact that Washington, D.C. didn’t seem to be listening to the rallies, protests, emails, faxes, letters, or phone calls, and they certainly weren’t listening at the townhalls with their constituents. Tim went to bed that night, and arose a few scant hours later. Over the course of the next six hours he wrote what has become a declaration to Washington, D.C. But this time, the declaration didn’t declare independence, but rather a Declaration of Restoration.

Patterned after the Declaration of Independence, it began:

“Throughout the Course of Human Events, too often history has shown clear opposition to man’s assent for a higher purpose. It has, once again, become necessary for the People of the United States to remind themselves and their leaders of that greater purpose that binds them together. A decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they could declare the causes which impel them to the Restoration.”

“ If you’ve felt one person cannot make a difference, watch the Declaration of Restoration. One man, with a vision, is uniting Americans to deliver Washington, D.C. a message. Watch or read, and then sign this Declaration of Restoration, and if you can, please make a donation. Every voice matters, make yours count,” Aalders said. Buy Back America grew from a one-man-show to a co-host, producer/call screener, PR, movie and television producer. A full team now works to bring Tim Aalders’ dream, indeed the dream of the entire team, of a Restored America brought back to life.

And what is that dream? It is American businesses booming again, manufacturing returning to our shores, constitutional rights fully restored, the federal government pared back, Main Street bustling with the life of Mom and Pop businesses, and the states returning to the strength of power they once had. I'll admit it, I am a big fan of Ann Coulter. I've followed her career for many years, and read many of her books. So you can imagine how pleased I am that she is joining us on air tomorrow, 7 July 2011, to be interviewed by Tim and me at 10:20 a.m. (MDT) for 30 minutes.

My favorite quote from the book is: 

"A liberal would stare at you slack-jawed if you explained that the federal government, via Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, forced politically correct lending policies on the bank--policies that were attacked by Republicans but ferociously defended by Democrats--and that the banks' suicidal loans were then bundled into mortgage-backed securities and dispersed throughout the entire financial system, which poisoned the economy, bringing down powerful institutions, such as Lehman Brothers, and destroying innumerable families' financial portfolios."

About Ann Coulter:

A Connecticut native, Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review.

Coulter clerked for the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and was an attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for outstanding law school graduates.

After practicing law in private practice in New York City, Coulter worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she handled crime and immigration issues for Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan. From there, she became a litigator with the Center For Individual Rights in Washington, DC, a public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, civil rights, and the free exercise of religion.

We will be discussing her latest book "Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America [Hardcover])

The demon is a mob, and the mob is demonic. The Democratic Party activates mobs, depends on mobs, coddles mobs, publicizes and celebrates mobs—it is the mob. Sweeping in its scope and relentless in its argument, Demonic explains the peculiarities of liberals as standard groupthink behavior. To understand mobs is to understand liberals.

In her most provocative book to date, Ann Coulter argues that liberals exhibit all the psychological characteristics of a mob, for instance:

Liberal Groupthink: “The same mob mentality that leads otherwise law-abiding people to hurl rocks at cops also leads otherwise intelligent people to refuse to believe anything they haven’t heard on NPR.”

Liberal Schemes: “No matter how mad the plan is—Fraternité, the ‘New Soviet Man,’ the Master Race, the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, Building a New Society, ObamaCare—a mob will believe it.”

Liberal Enemies: “Instead of ‘counterrevolutionaries,’ liberals’ opponents are called ‘haters,’ ‘those who seek to divide us,’ ‘tea baggers,’ and ‘right-wing hate groups.’ Meanwhile, conservatives call liberals ‘liberals’—and that makes them testy.”

Liberal Justice: “In the world of the liberal, as in the world of Robespierre, there are no crimes, only criminals.”

Liberal Violence: “If Charles Manson’s followers hadn’t killed Roman Polanski’s wife, Sharon Tate, Clinton would have pardoned him, too, and he’d probably be teaching at Northwestern University.”

Citing the father of mob psychology, Gustave Le Bon, Coulter catalogs the Left’s mob behaviors: the creation of messiahs, the fear of scientific innovation, the mythmaking, the preference for images over words, the lack of morals, and the casual embrace of contradictory ideas.

Coulter traces the history of the liberal mob to the French Revolution and Robespierre’s revolutionaries (delineating a clear distinction from America’s founding fathers), who simply proclaimed that they were exercising the “general will” before slaughtering their fellow citizens “for the good of mankind.”

Similarly, as Coulter demonstrates, liberal mobs, from student radicals to white-trash racists to anti-war and pro-ObamaCare fanatics today, have consistently used violence to implement their idea of the “general will.”

This is not the American tradition; it is the tradition of Stalin, of Hitler, of the guillotine—and the tradition of the American Left.

As the heirs of the French Revolution, Democrats have a history that consists of pandering to mobs, time and again, while Republicans, heirs to the American Revolution, have regularly stood for peaceable order.

Hoping to muddy this horrifying truth, liberals slanderously accuse conservatives of their own crimes—assassination plots, conspiracy theorizing, political violence, embrace of the Ku Klux Klan. Coulter shows that the truth is the opposite: Political violence—mob violence—is always a Democratic affair.

Surveying two centuries of mob movements, Coulter demonstrates that the mob is always destructive. And yet, she argues, beginning with the civil rights movement in the sixties, Americans have lost their natural, inherited aversion to mobs. Indeed, most Americans have no idea what they are even dealing with.

Only by recognizing the mobs and their demonic nature can America begin to defend itself.
