H.B.116, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Me!

The debate over H.B.116 in Utah is one of the most volatile I have seen in this state in my time. Prop 8 was, without question, also volatile, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints clearly took a strong position on it. However, with H.B.116, contradictory statements within their own news releases have caused a great rift to arise in the party and the state, not to mention the Church.

Today, as Tim and I were doing our radio show, we had a caller who demanded we both boycott the Church because of their stance on H.B.116. He demanded the Church lose its 501c3 status as a protected religion and went on, and on, and on, and railed on us because neither Tim, nor I, would turn on the Church.

Let me see if I can help people understand where I am coming from on this horribly flawed legislation and the Church's perceived stance on it.

H.B.116 is a mishmosh of legislation all crammed together from the 2011 Spring Session of the Utah State Legislature. It provides guest worker permits for illegal immigrants issued by the State, a clear violation of the U.S. Constitution and the Republican Party Platform. I mention the platform because the bulk of the legislators who voted for this legislation were Republican, violating the very platform they agreed to uphold. Despite the fact that Senator Mike Lee and Congressman Jason Chaffetz have both stated that federal waivers will not be granted, the intrepid moderate Republicans of the Utah State Legislature pushed forward and passed H.B.116 and Governor Gary Herbert signed it into law.

Prior to the passing and signing, the legislature and governor's office were swamped with phone calls and emails begging them not to turn their back on the citizens of Utah in favor of those who reside here illegally. The wishes of the bulk of Utah citizens were ignored. Then a firestorm grew into a conflagration.

First, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement:

17 MARCH 2011 — POSTED by PUBLIC AFFAIRS STAFF

A recent article in the Salt Lake Tribune highlighted the fact that the Church’s Presiding Bishop, H. David Burton, attended the signing of a comprehensive set of immigration reform bills passed by the Utah legislature. The article said: “One thing is clear: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has abandoned its claims to neutrality on these bills.”

This needs a clarification.

While the Church does not endorse or oppose specific political parties, candidates or platforms, it has always reserved the right to address, in a nonpartisan way, issues that have significant community or moral consequences. Immigration is such an issue.

Before the 2011 Utah legislative session began, the Church announced its support for the Utah Compact . Our hope was that lawmakers would find solutions that encompassed principles important to Mormons and other people of goodwill:

We follow Jesus Christ by loving our neighbors. The Savior taught that the meaning of “neighbor” includes all of God’s children, in all places, at all times.

We recognize an ever-present need to strengthen families. Families are meant to be together. Forced separation of working parents from their children weakens families and damages society.

We acknowledge that every nation has the right to enforce its laws and secure its borders. All persons subject to a nation’s laws are accountable for their acts in relation to them.

Our focus during the legislative session was to encourage laws that incorporated these principles. The Church did not dictate what kinds of bills should be proposed. Like many others on Capitol Hill, Church officials voiced their views and trusted the state’s elected officials to do their job. We consider the comprehensive package passed by lawmakers to be a responsible approach to a very complicated issue. Bishop Burton was invited, along with other community leaders, to witness the signing of a series of immigration bills by Utah Governor Gary Herbert and to show support for the diligent efforts of lawmakers in this area.

We expect that our country will continue to struggle with this complicated issue, which the federal government will have to address. Our hope is that good people everywhere will strive for principle-based solutions that balance the rule of law with the need for compassion.

# # #

This was a very clear statement, in my opinion. They would not endorse or condemn H.B.116. The family is paramount. And nations could defend their borders.

Somehow, this very clear statement caused a brouhaha. In the newspapers, on the television, on social networks it raged across the state. National media picked up on it and labeled Utah a sanctuary state, much to our current and future detriment. Everyone weighed in, and yet the battle here at home grew more personal.

The Church issued a second press release, which I am having trouble finding. I've scrolled through their news releases, but can't find it. They felt, I'm sure, they had clarified the matter. But as I read the release I didn't get from it what everyone else did. However, I do think it made their stance slightly muddy, as in it was no longer clear. Were they reversing what they had stated before, which I included for you above, or were they trying to reiterate, very clumsily, the Church's stance.

Here is how I see the Church's stance:

1. The Church has no borders, nor should it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a global church and is more concerned with the salvation of souls rather than the protection of borders.

2. They want us to have compassion. I have no problem with that. They do not want families separated, and I understand that is well. That is why the entire family should be deported and the children given dual citizenship until the age of 18 when they must declare a nation.

3. They very clearly stated, in both statements, that nations have the right to protect their borders.

In a further conversation with a representative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Public Affairs Department, I confirmed the following:

4. The Church wants members to remain in their own nations and build up the Church there.

5. The Church DOES honor the rule of law as is stated in the 12th Article of Faith:
We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
6. And last, but certainly not least in my mind and heart, I confirmed that I could continue to fight H.B.116 without losing my Church membership or my temple recommend. I was also told that the Church does not censor its members and they needed us out there standing up for what is right.

I am part of a statewide effort to let our legislators and governor know how very unhappy we are with H.B.116 and their actions. One group has decided to back off and work to get the legislation rewritten. That is certainly their right. Having read H.B.116, I have to say the best way to rewrite that law is to throw it out and start over from scratch. Hence, repeal it and start again. And this time, try to stay within the bounds of constitutional law.

Now to bring this back to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My testimony is not wavering in the slightest. Why is that you ask? The Church is well within the bounds of the law to express its opinion on absolutely anything.

For me, I am not a Mormon because it is politically expedient, popular, or because my parents raised me in the Church. I am a Latter-day Saint because I have spent my lifetime studying the scriptures, poring over the words of the prophets and apostles and spending my time on my knees in prayer asking for my own confirmations of the truth. Over the course of my life I have been the recipient of many confirmations of these truths and I have never abandoned my quest for knowledge in the Gospel. Because of that, there is nothing that could happen that will cause me to lose my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or turn my back on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

To sum it up, I do not find any part of this situation, in regards to the Church, troubling. Politics has no place in religion, although religion does have a place in politics. The very values religion teaches us should enable us to make good decisions, and that includes our legislators. And last, but in no way least, my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not tied to man, but to God.

Consider, if you will, the wheat and the tares of New Testament fame. Remember the lesson taught in that parable and do not, under any circumstances, be one of the tares.

American Thinker: Obama vs. the Constitution

From American Thinker, James Lewis writes an incredible article about Barack Obama and his views of the U.S. Constitution.

"The genius of the Constitution is not some person, time, or place. It is a very improbable conjunction of all three. Jefferson and Madison were not the only ones to fear the abuse of power. That idea goes back to the Epic of Gilgamesh. Every family with an alcoholic father or a tyrannical grandmother knows it. In England John Locke and Edmund Burke feared tyranny as much as the American founders, but they never had a chance to build the foundations of a new, independent, great power.

Obama is our first Marxist-Leninist president. He never quite uses those words, but in words and deeds he makes it clear beyond doubt. His two autobiographies all but say it.

I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. ... The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists ... we discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy.

The Cardinal Mindszenty Foundation has also published a careful summary of the public record that leaves no doubt about who Obama is.

Obama wrapped himself in his own lifelong cult. Universities are supposed to be places of open debate and open minds, but Obama knew his own life course from childhood on, and never opened up to anything else.

Marxism-Leninism grew out of Europe's totalitarian and imperialistic tradition. It has nothing but contempt for electoral "bourgeois" government. In the free atmosphere of American life, Marxist campus cults are like little cysts that grow in isolation from the real world. Some of them grow bigger and bigger and finally explode into a billion cancer cells, to enter the bloodstream of American life.

No great power in Europe or Asia has ever managed to keep an American-style constitutional balance for long. After Napoleon, France kept trying different Republics, until de Gaulle created its current constitution, which is now being supplanted by the EU. Britain doesn't have a written constitution, but rather a vaguely defined cloud of principles that is now crumbling under the assault of Political Correctness. Canada was a British colony until 1931, and is turning into a PC corruptocracy like Europe. Latin America inherited a hidalgo style of politics from Spain, arrogant and contemptuous of peasants and merchants. Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez are just hidalgos of the left, with Fidel inflicting mandatory six-hour television lectures on his suffering people over half a century. That's what hidalgos do; no American president could get away with it, and when Obama tried one long speech after another, people just turned off their TVs. Obama must have been stunned that people were not listening to him like the Cubans were listening to Fidel. What's wrong with these people anyway?

Europe's trading cities, like Venice, Amsterdam, and Hamburg came the closest to long-lasting electoral rule, but they never controlled the hinterlands.

As for classical Athens, often called the source of Western democracy, Plato and Aristotle were slave-holding aristocrats in a time of endless war, treachery, imperial conquest, mob rule, hedonistic excess, genocide, and tyranny. Plato's Republic argues for a hereditary aristocracy as the golden mean between one-man tyranny and mob rule, because Plato saw so many political horrors.

In Europe and Asia, new power classes just kept taking over, century after century. Europe gave birth to the political ideals of the Enlightenment, but was never able to put them into practice. Today's European Union is another gigantic front for an unelected political elite.

Europe's suicidal weakness today is its cowardice in the face of radical Islam, and the prosecution of heroic Resistance fighters like Geert Wilders, just for saying what millions of Europeans are thinking. In 1938 Churchill was despised by the political elites, but he was never prosecuted for sounding the alarm about Hitler. In the Libyan mess it looked like Europe might finally be growing up. So far it's getting a D-, mostly for trying hard.
Soon after the American Revolution of 1776, history conducted one of its rare experiments as the French Revolution broke out and quickly fell into bloody anarchy. A decade later Napoleon turned Liberté, Egalité, and Fraternité into another egomaniacal empire. That's what Mao Zedong did after the Chinese civil war, Lenin after the Romanoffs, Hitler after the Weimar Republic. Most countries just keep flipping between tyranny and civil war. The Arabs are doing it right in front of our eyes today.

What's new in history is 200 years of peace and stability across 3,000 miles of territory, with only one great breakdown, the American Civil War. Protected by two great oceans and a constitutional balance of powers, millions of people born in the Old World were able to thrive in freedom -- not perfect freedom, which does not exist, but far greater liberty than other major countries.

Obama is our first Napoleonic president whose beliefs are far outside our political tradition. After George Washington was elected, nobody knew how a constitutional president would behave. There was real fear that America had just traded one King George for another. When Washington went home after two terms, there was a palpable sigh of relief and celebration. In the last two and a half centuries only FDR has clung to office more than two terms, and that led to the 22nd Amendment. Washington set the precedent.

Obama acts like a Third World socialist, like his Kenyan father, and his thinking is stunningly rigid. He seems to be woefully ignorant about basic economics, science, and technology, international affairs, and the conventions of American politics. Either that, or he is acting that way as part of his peculiar character disorder. Deliberately violating norms is a way to show contempt for "middleclassness," as Jerry Wright calls it. It's the bourgeois values that Karl Marx hated so much. In psychiatry, deliberate lifelong violations of accepted rules are a sign of "oppositional-defiant personality," closely allied with grandiose narcissism. That describes Obama's lifelong character.

But let's not exaggerate Obama's danger. Politicians come and go. Obama calls Republicans "extremists," "radicals," and "unpatriotic." He's trying to flip the political world upside-down, but the American people know who is really "radical," "extremist," and "unpatriotic." It's not hard to tell. The left is unpatriotic by definition: They simply refuse to believe in "patria," the land of one's fathers and mothers. They are radical transnationalists who pin their faith in some imaginary worldwide command center that will finally solve all human conflict. It will be run by Obama and his kind, of course. This idea is so ancient that it goes back six millennia to Sumer and the Yellow Emperor.

Other politicians in the last 200 years have tried end-runs around the Constitution. The Dixiecrat South was a one-party machine that clung to power for half a century after Reconstruction. Al Capone's Chicago was a one-party machine, backed by threats and violence. Michelle Obama is the daughter of a ward heeler on Southside Chicago. When she told the world that she "had never felt proud of her country," she was just echoing the everyday prattle of her cult. Jesse Jackson is a family friend, and Louis Farrakhan is a big political power in Chicago. They are above criticism, because that's how machine politics works.

Every single imperial ideology in the last two centuries has come from Europe, from Napoleon to Stalin. Obama is not a Jeffersonian democrat. He does not understand or value the European Enlightenment; his roots are in the class war of the 19th century, which has now turned into war of all against all: Women against the men, poor against the rich, blacks against whites, gays against straights. Our media constantly whip up such hatreds, and children learn them in the schools. We have not been able to mount a coherent defense against the leftist divide-and-conquer strategy.

Europe has extreme difficulty with a self-balancing power mechanism like the US Constitution, with the three branches constantly tilting against each other; the States and localities against the Feds; and press monopolies, like today's liberal media, being constantly challenged by new technologies.

Constitutional government is under sustained and vicious assault by the internationalist left. Just read the headlines. It's not a coincidence.

Obama believes in internationalism, with grandiose egos like his own ruling the world. That's what the left is all about, and has been since Karl. Marx is not "progressive" but "retrogressive," because grandiose empires started six millennia ago in the great river valleys of the Old World, where city states amassed the power and ideological beliefs to conquer their neighbors. Obama would be at home in Egypt, Persia, Assyria, Alexander's Greek Empire, Rome, the Inca and Maya empires, Russia, Austro-Hungary, the Soviet Union. They are all pyramid-building empires made up of "soviets" -- councils -- commanded from the top.

The European Union is not an American-style delicately counter-balanced construction, designed to give the people the last word. No, the EU is just another imperial pyramid, and it is systematically disempowering the peoples of Europe.

Americans are the luckiest people in the world, not only because of our material fortune, nor even because of our fundamental decency and good will. We are the luckiest because we can afford to be as dumb as a brick, fail to educate our children, remain blissfully ignorant of the dangers that have killed hundreds of millions of people in the last 50 years, indulge in all the newest drugs, the biggest quantities of alcohol, the widest range of cuisines and tastes, and the usual range of sensual self-indulgence...and we are still protected from doom. So far.

The reason for our astonishing luck can be summarized in a few words. It's the Constitution.

We've been skating on our luck to the point of blind arrogance -- so much that our law schools are teaching their students the "revolutionary" fads of Marxism, explaining how to destroy the legal foundation that is the source of all our good fortune. "Revolution" is celebrated, but "revolution" is just a roll-over of power from one ruling class to another. Even the word "revolution" came from Copernicus's book about the rotation of the earth in the solar system. That kind of turnover of power changes nothing.

Obama really belongs in the post-colonial socialist world, like his father, who also never understood that the land he visited so briefly to father a child, Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., represented the biggest revolution in political history. Barack Sr. flew back to Kenya to join Jomo Kenyatta in just another disastrous post-colonial tyranny, one that may have ended in his own death from alcoholism, despair, and two disastrous automobile crashes. Barack Sr. may have dimly apprehended that things were terribly wrong in Kenyatta's post-colonial paradise, as indeed they were. India and China also suffered terribly under post-colonial socialism. They only began to recover when they found a way to give their own talented peoples a modicum of freedom to become productive. They re-discovered their own abilities to thrive without bureaucratic tyranny. Obama Jr. has never figured that out.

The US Constitution is the revolution; the rebellions of the left are just reactionary throwbacks. Whether the liberals like it or not, it's the American Revolution that is radically new, a genuine step toward a different way of living and governing.

The left is not "progressive." On the contrary, it is a reactionary throwback to a tyrannical past."

Is Freedom An Endangered State?

by Muriel Sluyter

We Americans have been free too long. Many of our citizens no longer value the freedom for which our ancestors fought and died, at least not enough to keep it.

Many of us see nothing wrong with trading that freedom for money, inspiring a particularly unprincipled class of politicians to compete to buy the most votes with the taxpayers’ hard-earned money. That’s the money those politicians have sworn to use wisely. Apparently, "wisely" is in the eye of the beholder, or maybe just in the eye of the guy holding the key to the taxpayers’ bank account.

Both that class of politicians and those citizens subscribe to the "Robin Hood" model of government, "Take from the rich and give to the poor." Inexplicably, they consider such "taking and giving" a badge of honor.

Have we truly devolved to this extent? How do we decide for whom we will vote? Let’s analyze some basic human tendencies: Most citizens who vote for the man they think will be the best manager, the best CEO, become Republicans. Democrats like the candidate who grabs their emotions, who dramatically assures them of their victim status, tells them the owner of the corner store is ripping them off, and promises them the goodies they "deserve". If he makes good on that promise, he is guaranteed a lifetime in office, the perks of which he can and will manipulate to set himself up for life.

Basic human nature never changes, but there always have been and always will be aberrations, for which we can be extremely grateful. There are some truly honorable elected officials and some equally honorable voters.

Such are the last, best hope of mankind’s freedom. And we need more of them!

Until next time,
Muriel Sluyter

The Declaration of Restoration by Buy Back America Radio

Many of you know that I am now a permanent co-host on KTALK AM 630's Buy Back America Radio. We have been involved in a monumental project, the Declaration of Restoration. We based it on the Declaration of Independence, but want a restoration to our founding principles, hence the Declaration of Restoration.

We will be taking this message across America on a 33-city bus tour, ending up in Washington, D.C. on July 4th to personally deliver our message. We ask Americans to unite behind this message and let's insure the restoration of this nation we love so much.

May God bless America and this incredible effort of her restoration.

If you cannot see this video, please go to www.buybackamerica.com and see the video for yourself. Here is the official message from the Buy Back America Radio team.

Our Fellow Americans,

People across America might disagree with certain areas of politics, but we can all agree on one fact: politicians on both the federal and state levels continue to disappoint and let us down. The team at Buy Back America Radio recognizes we have our differences, but that we also need to unite to let politicians know that business as usual in Washington, and across this great country, is no longer accepted.

Each election year, billions of dollars are donated to both sides of the political landscape from special interests and corporations. To combat this, the Buy Back America Radio team created a document called the Declaration of Restoration. They plan on traveling across country, gathering support and signatures, to deliver this Declaration into the hands of the politicians in our capital city. But they could use your help.

Americans need to stand up for what is right. We ask you to do three things.

1. Join other Americans and sign the Declaration of Restoration at www.buybackamerica.com. It’s simple, easy, and will help show that we are united.

2. Help us make this journey by making a contribution. We plan on visiting Main Street USA and filming a documentary about the issues Americans are concerned about.

3. Please share this with friends, family, and neighbors. We need everyone’s help.

Thank you,
Buy Back America Radio

I ask you to please share this blog post on your own blogs, email lists and websites. Share it in its entirety and credit it back to Dream a little dream... Candace E. Salima's blog. Include my email ces @ candacesalima dot com, so they can trace this back to its original source and confirm its accuracy.

This is an exciting time for America. Tim Aalders and I, with the entire Buy Back America team, are inviting Americans to unite behind the Declaration of Restoration and make sure we are successful in the restoration of America.

Barack Obama: Part Two

Well, if those words don't strike terror into your heart, you haven't been paying attention over the last 2 1/2 years. Barack Obama announced this morning that he is running for the President of the United States of America, again.

Looking back over everything I learned about Barack Obama in the last presidential campaign (just go down to the Labels and you will find 72 blog posts about Barack Obama, his administration or the unholy triumvirate formed between Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi,) and adding it to everything we have seen and learned since January 20th of 2008 ... I shudder to think of another four years under the inept, and grossly dangerous, leadership of Barack Hussein Obama.

His campaign slogan went back and forth between "Yes we can," which was answered by the American people with "Hell no, please don't!" and his response was an endless chant of "Hope and Change."

Well, we got change alright, but the hope ... that's on vacation and is not expected back as long as Barack Obama is in office and the U.S. Senate is under control of the Harry Reid and the "spend 'til we die" Democrats. Under the worst leadership this nation has ever seen, we were the unhappy recipients of:

T.A.R.P. (begun by George w.  Bush and happily finished by Barack Hussein Obama.) - This almost $1 trillion dollar package quickly went to banks overseas, to U.S. banks under the condition they begin lending to American businesses again, but no, that never happened. And of course, Utah's former senator, Bob Bennett, decided there should be no oversight of T.A.R.P. Which was one of the worst decisions made on par with Obamacare. And of course, it went on to pay for AIG, General Motors and other "too big to fail" companies, some of which failed anyway, with the taxpayers' money. Instead of revitalizing the economy, it sunk it further into debt.

Did that stop Obama and the Democrats? Oh no, they were just getting started. Next they started on Obamacare ... by the time the 111th Congress passed it and Obama signed it into law it was 2700+ pages of everything from funding abortions to end-of-life counseling for those over 55 to Obama's million man civilian army he so desperately wanted ... I guess to keep people like us from ever rising up and calling for the restoration of the U.S. Constitution, which our president calls a flawed document because it doesn't go far enough in the redistribution of wealth.

Omnibus and whatever else came down the pike, funded things like "Why do pigs stink?" Seriously? Give me the $100+ million and I can create thousands of jobs and I can tell you why pigs stink, they roll around in the mud, their feces and urine. That makes them stink. So hey, where's my money?

Barack Obama, as you remember, ordered Guantanamo Bay shut down within the first year of his administration. Now, I don't agree with the shutting down of Guantanamo, simply because it serves a military purpose and is a great place to keep enemy combatants, as well as try them. However, that is neither here nor there, Obama has not closed down Guantanamo to this day.

The Housing Marketing dropped to all time lows, and is growing worse every month. Unemployment soared up past 10%, although in reality it was over 20%. Stop to consider that unemployment levels are calculated by Unemployment claims...when those, drop economists consider things are getting better. But with 40 million Americans out of work, things are not getting better because people no longer qualify, or have given up, or continue to look and simply cannot find work. So Obama and his people can massage the numbers all they want, the reality is that America is in dire straits.

Now let's discuss illegal immigration. America's southern border is at war. Yes, there are some safe areas, the rest are at all out war. Pinal County, for instance, where Sheriff Paul Babeu runs the ship, had 650,000 illegal immigrants come through his county last year. Cartels have set up sniper blinds and take pot shots at Babeu's deputies. The cartels have also sent in groups of men into Babeu's county, who are hiding out in caves and spying on Americans. When those Americans leave their homes, these Cartel animals break in and steal food, weapons and ammo...no electronics, simply what they need to survive. And the latest lovely thing they have added to their repertoire is the arming of their bundles of drugs. Yup, IEDs are now in those bundles. Unless the drug mule picks up that bundle first, any hiker, bandit or law enforcement office who finds will have it explode in their faces.

So I ask you this? Does that sound safe to you? Because it doesn't to me. In the meantime, the Arizona state legislature passed SB1070, an immigration enforcement law. And what did Obama do? He ran to the United Nations, not the U.S. Congress, but he ran to the U.N. and tattled on Arizona, painting such a distorted picture of that state that the U.N. announced intentions of sending in people to see if illegal immigrants' rights were being violated. Here's the thing Obama, the United Nations has no authority in America. Not sure you're aware of that. There's this little thing here we call the balance of powers.

The Founding Fathers set up a system of checks and balances which would preserve the Republic if not abused. You, our inept president, should have gone to the U.S. Congress if you had concerns about Arizona, who, by the way, did absolutely nothing wrong with S.B.1070. Running to the United Nations to tell on Arizona was proof positive that you have no idea what you are doing.

The only thing Barack Obama has been decisive about since becoming president is pushing his socialist agenda on the American people. He is one of the most dangerous ideologues out there. When the American people protested, screamed, yelled, called, emailed, wrote letters, sent faxes, showed up in person in unprecedented numbers, held protests over Obamacare and the runaway fiscal debt...he responded with, "I didn't explain it to the American people well enough. I just need to explain it better." He hadn't read the 2,700 pages of Obamacare, neither had anyone in Congress. The only people who read it were the American people and we were horrified by it. Utterly and completely horrified at what they were forcing on the American people. So we didn't need it explained to us. We needed it to go away. But he signed it into law anyway.

In the midst of the months and months of the writing, re-writing and shoving of Obamacare down the throats of the American people, Obama started in on Cap & Trade. He blithely ignored the one state, who had implemented Cap & Trade, and the consequences of their actions. Between the illegal immigrants devastating the economy and employment, Cap & Trade took energy costs and shot them skyway. California is so bankrupt they've been issuing IOUs to their citizens instead of tax returns. Obama gleefully rubbed his hands together and said, "Hey, let's try this nationwide."

Global warming was debunked, but that didn't slow Barack Obama down. On no, not OUR erstwhile president. Because Cap & Trade couldn't make it through the 111th Congress, the American people were livid of the $1 trillion price tag of Obamacare, and Congress finally figured out they were in deep water. So what did Barack Obama do? He told the Environmental Protection Agency to take everything in Cap & Trade and regulate it, thereby bypassing Congress. Energy prices are skyrocketing nationwide and the Obama Administration said they are not concerned and don't consider it a problem. Hey buddy, it's a problem for me.

Moving on, March 11, 2011 a 10.0 earthquake hit Japan, shortly followed by a devastating tsunami. Between the two, thousands are dead and multiple nuclear reactors are leaking radiation into the air and water. The entire island is contaminated. They cannot grow food, drink the milk from their cows or drink their water. Daily the situation grows worse. It took ten days for Barack Obama to say anything. One speech, that was it. In the meantime, I do not know how Japan can recover from this. The situation grows more and more dangerous, and this is the most dangerous, devastating thing to hit any nation in the history of the world, for the long-reaching ramifications are just as dangerous as the immediate.

Barack Obama harangued President Bush unceasingly about being in the Middle East and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He swore he would bring American troops home and end both wars. Here we are, the 4th of April in 2011 and American troops are still in Afghanistan and Iraq, and now we've added Libya and Obama is now eying Yemen. He is spreading war-weary American troops too thin and looking at the Middle East, siding with the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda and turning on our time-tested ally Israel.

Before the earthquake, the Middle East began an historical meltdown...and not for the better. Obama sided with the people in Egypt. Now the "people" are demanding a Modesty Police. So much for democracy, which is always doomed to fail anyway, but that also is neither here nor there.

Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya ... ah yes, Libya. The U.N. called Barack Obama and told him to set up a No-Fly Zone in Libya because Qaddafi was bombing his own people. Did Barack Obama go to the U.S. Congress, as he is supposed to do, to get permission to go into Libya? No, he did not. Instead he again only recognized the authority of the United Nations and went in without telling Congress a thing, let alone the American people. We dropped $1 billion in bombs, although the nation is broke. And who are we defending, the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda, for that is who is amongst the rebels pushing back against Qaddafi.

Barack Obama has done so much more than I have outlined here. What it all adds up to is he is the worst president in American history. We simply cannot survive another four years under an Obama presidency. So buckle up, the next 18 months are going to be a bumpy ride. This is a battle we cannot lose.
