September 11th: A National Day of Fasting and Prayer

Over on Facebook we were discussing the Obama Administration's decision to desecrate the memory of those who were murdered and those who died trying to save them at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Me? I am vehemently against turning 9/11 into a day in commemoration of the Green Movement. Sheesh, don't we already have an Earth Day? Anyway, the conversation went on and on until my good friend, Brian Halladay, pointed out that some take that day set aside in commemoration of those who lost their lives on September 11th and use that day as a day of fasting and prayer:

"During the Revolutionary War, Congress appointed a Day of Fasting & Prayer to call upon God, and plead for His Providential aid. The fasting and prayers of three million Americans were answered as the power of God enabled them to win battles they otherwise shouldn't have won and gave them strength to defeat their enemy.

"Today, we too are in need of miracles for this great nation. We invite you to join us as we call upon God again through Fasting & Prayer on September 11, 2009, to help us secure and preserve our Faith, Family, Freedom, and for guidance to know what WE can do to protect our Nation and its inspired Constitution.

Please join us." ~ Brian Halladay

At this time, more than any other in our history, the rights and freedoms of Americans are under vicious attack from the Obama Administration and the 111th Congress. The Constitution is being dismantled and the Republic is fading away.

Americans all over have risen up and said "Enough is enough!" and demanded that Washington D.C. listen to the American people... and yet, Americans are being ignored by the leadership THEY voted into office. We have pleaded, and then demanded, for the cessation of socialism and the restoration of the Republic. And yet our enemies march on, blindly, toward the destruction of America.

Please, be you Mormon, Catholic, Baptist, Protestant, Evangelican or more...set aside Friday, 11 September 2009, for fasting and prayer on behalf of America. Spread the word across Blogland, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace ... across the land. For we need God in this battle. He has not forsaken us nor will He. We must not forsake Him or this great land.

And friends, remember, we shall not fail in this great battle. Freedom and liberty will ring across the land once again, if we but continue pushing forward. We must fight on ...

  1. As a man who has recently served our great nation in Iraq, and who served as an undercover Federal Air Marshal following the Sept 11th attacks, I've recognized the serious need for prayer both in peace and war. We are in war! We have been since al Qaeda and bin Laden declared it upon us in the infamous 1998 fatwa (religious edict).

THANK YOU for your great efforts. This posting, and Mr. Halladay's efforts are applauded vigorously by this red-blooded American and War Veteran. THANK YOU!

  2. Thanks for posting this. It's a great idea to have Sept 11 be a day of fasting and prayer.

May God bless America and keep us free.
