Tim Hawkins: The Government Can

Obama's Czars on America
Barack Obama has violated the U.S. Constitution one more time...oh wait, how many Czars are there now? His czars, which we've all been hearing so much about, are radical communists who believe in population control, communist government and other atrocities. They answer to no one except for Barack Obama. Congress has no authority over them. So let's take a look.
In the words of Obama's Russia-inspired czars:
"Science Czar," John P. Holdren: "There exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated ... It has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society."
My thoughts: I know what I am about to write is a harsh and unforgiving statement, but I can't help but think that if some "population-control laws" were exercised by the parents of these czars, current administration and this congress we wouldn't be in this mess. Does this sound like China to anyone?
"Regulatory Czar" Cass Sunstein: "Why should we be governed by people long dead? … In any case, the group that ratified the Constitution included just a small subset of the society; it excluded all women, the vast majority of African Americans, many of those without property, and numerous others who were not permitted to vote.”
My thoughts: Ever heard of the Bill of Rights? The founding fathers set the Constitution up so that the people of the nation could make amendments, as long as they largely agreed, state by state, one the amendment. Don't see that happening in ANY other form of government. Sheesh! Take a class on the Constitution by someone who isn't a communist and you'll be able to see it for yourself.

We are America
As each day dawns in America, Barack Obama and his minions are taking more and more control of America. Each day, as another Czar is appointed in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution and the 111th Congress abdicates its power to the treasonous president currently sitting in office, the situation grows more dire.
The time is now, for the hour grows late, in which we must stand up, speak up and be heard. As I have stated over and over in the past, we must be ever vigilant. 2010 is when we take this nation back. It is when Obama's 40 plus czars will have a rude awakening as Congress reminds Obama and his mini me czars that this is America, the land of the free and the home of the brave.
We can no longer sit quietly in our homes and yards, we must join in the groundswell of freedom sweeping America. Socialism must not stand. Liberty must rise again. Our military has fought for and attained freedom for so many nations across the world. Let us protect that freedom here at home that all their efforts will not be in vain. Let us stand as Americans who are proud of our country; for we are proud of our history, our strengths and our weaknesses and we understand that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Know and love the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Know that for which you fight. Learn of the founding fathers and why they crafted and left us the legacy of a Republic over every other form of government. Understand the strengths of a Republic and the inherent, insidious weaknesses of socialism, fascism and communism. Realize that this is our time and our place. Patriots in past days have fought, bled and sacrificed for America. Let us who have not been asked to pay so dearly, stand for America at this time.
Speak truth with boldness. Do not allow threats, intimidation, name-calling or any other liberal trick stop you from shouting to the world the truths contained in the U.S. Constitution. Defend with strength the Republic from the attacks within. Let the liberals denigrate that which they fear, for they are trembling at the sleeping tiger which has been awakened. We are America. We are the sons and daughters of liberty.

September 11th: A National Day of Fasting and Prayer

"Today, we too are in need of miracles for this great nation. We invite you to join us as we call upon God again through Fasting & Prayer on September 11, 2009, to help us secure and preserve our Faith, Family, Freedom, and for guidance to know what WE can do to protect our Nation and its inspired Constitution.
Please join us." ~ Brian Halladay
At this time, more than any other in our history, the rights and freedoms of Americans are under vicious attack from the Obama Administration and the 111th Congress. The Constitution is being dismantled and the Republic is fading away.
Americans all over have risen up and said "Enough is enough!" and demanded that Washington D.C. listen to the American people... and yet, Americans are being ignored by the leadership THEY voted into office. We have pleaded, and then demanded, for the cessation of socialism and the restoration of the Republic. And yet our enemies march on, blindly, toward the destruction of America.
Please, be you Mormon, Catholic, Baptist, Protestant, Evangelican or more...set aside Friday, 11 September 2009, for fasting and prayer on behalf of America. Spread the word across Blogland, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace ... across the land. For we need God in this battle. He has not forsaken us nor will He. We must not forsake Him or this great land.
And friends, remember, we shall not fail in this great battle. Freedom and liberty will ring across the land once again, if we but continue pushing forward. We must fight on ...

Interview with Author & Utah Attorney General Mark L. Shurtleff

Mark began his legal career by serving four years in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG), then was a lawyer in Southern California.
Mark was a Deputy County Attorney and a Commissioner of Salt Lake County. He then became an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah. He was elected Attorney General in November 2000, and was re-elected in November 2004 and again in November 2008. He is the first Attorney General in Utah to win re-election for a third term. Mark is currently running for the U.S. Senate against Senator Bob Bennett.
Mark is married with five children. He is an Eagle Scout, fluent in Spanish and "Am I Not a Man? The Dred Scott Story" is his first novel. We at Valor Publishing Group invite you to become a fan of Mark's work just as we have.
Valor: Mark, will you share just a little bit about why the Dred Scott case caught your attention?
Mark: As Utah Attorney General I enforce the rule of law to ensure justice to all. One day several years ago while studying famous court cases for a presentation, I re-examined the infamous Supreme Court decision that declared a black man is not a man and has no rights that white man had to respect. I was appalled by such a ruling and intrigued by the question: Who was this man, an illiterate slave, who had the courage and tenacity to persist in the white man’s legal system for eleven years to win his freedom and why wasn’t his personal story known and celebrated by all Americans?
Valor: As an attorney how differently would you have defended Dred Scott?
Mark: Because the grown children of Dred’s first master loved and respected him, they stood by his side against overwhelming opposition and provided the means by which he could access the courts to seek his freedom. They were able to find qualified attorneys who actually won his freedom for a short time from a jury of white southern slave owners, and provide the legal expertise to do an exceptional job through the appellate process. What they couldn’t do was stop politics and judicial activism from getting in the way of a just decision. In speaking about the case with Chief Justice John Roberts, I learned that the greatest lesson for lawyers and judges from the Dred Scott rulings was to not go beyond arguing and adjudicating the specific legal issues in the case, and not try to make law or shape public policy through litigation.
Valor: As Utah’s Attorney General, do you feel you have been true to the spirit of what Dred Scott stood for?
Mark: Yes, absolutely. Exercising police powers of investigation and prosecution is an awesome responsibility handed to me by the people of Utah and that is why I designed my office seal and motto around the Constitution’s promise of ensuring justice which means equal access, opportunity and responsibility under law. Every issue I and my attorneys and police officers confront we weigh in balance the duty to protect the public and secure the rights of every individual regardless of who they are.
Valor: Freedom is a precious gift, although not free, what does freedom mean to you?
Mark: Freedom means an equal opportunity without undue governmental interference to be the very best I can be and to protect and provide for my family and develop and employ my education, talents and experience to add a positive benefit back to society. The heart of the concept that “freedom isn’t free” is a duty to serve and improve the lives of others.
Valor: What is the message you want your readers to walk away from “Am I Not a Man? The Dred Scott Story” with?
Mark: First that Dred Scott was a great American hero who despite the circumstances of his birth would not quit in his effort to secure justice and freedom through the court system. His childhood neighbor, Nat Turner, chose to try to and win freedom by murdering white people; so second, I would hope we will all follow Dred’s example that violence and disobedience to law are never the answer to life’s perceived injustices. Finally that neither Dred, not any of us, can go it alone and need to join together despite our perceived differences and combat injustice wherever we see it.
Valor: Will you please share what you hope to see with the “Cry for Freedom” contest?
Mark: I hope that everyone, whether they put pen to paper and submit an entry, will think hard about what it would be like to lose your freedom, to be treated like an animal, to lose the ability to protect your family, to be denied the ability not just to go wherever and whenever you desire, but to become whatever you want to be. In researching and writing Dred’s story, I was blessed with the ability to put myself in his place and to tremble and cry at a small personal taste of slavery, and to exult in his short-lived taste of freedom. It caused me to rededicate my life to serving others and fighting to protect the rights and freedoms of others. I hope this book and this contest will bring the same experience and commitment to others.
Valor: What do you and Dred Scott have in common?
Mark: Wives who love us, believe in us, and support us despite the fact that others might see our life’s efforts as “tilting at windmills.” We also share a burning faith in the constitutional guarantee emblazoned on the facade of the Supreme Court, “Equal Justice under Law,” and a dogged commitment to ensure its application for all. Finally, we both believe in a loving Father in Heaven who guides and inspires the affairs of men and who, while allowing injustice and suffering caused by the evil that men choose to do, nevertheless promises us freedom of the spirit, peace, love and equality in the Courts on High.
Valor: Right now, you are the Attorney General of Utah, where do you hope to be in 10 years?
Mark: Serving the public trust and protecting the rights of the people of Utah as Attorney General and has been the greatest honor in my life. I would hope to be able to take my talents and experience to Washington D.C. and serve my country and the people of Utah with the same passion, energy and commitment in the United States Senate – and still make time for my family, boy scouts, at-risk youth and inspiring others through the written and spoken word.
Valor: And finally, Dred Scott left freedom as the legacy for his children, what legacy do you hope to leave your children?
Mark: That each has been endowed by their Creator with the right to life, liberty, and happiness; and an unshakable knowledge of their self-worth, and that in this great free nation, they have the opportunity to be anything they want to be, but they must go out and seize the day and earn it and not expect others to hand it to them. Hopefully, by my example, my children will see that the greatest legacy of free people is to use their talents, education, experience, time and resources to serve and bless the lives of others.
Mark L. Shurtleff is a bright light on the literary horizon. Valor Publishing Group is honored to associate ourselves with an author of Mark's magnitude.
If you belong to a book group, you may find suggested book group questions here."From the moment I began reading Am I Not a Man? The Dred Scott Story I was rendered breathless by the lyrical, masterful writing of Mark L. Shurtleff. He has literally breathed life into the story of mid-19th century slave Dred Scott who sued for his freedom and changed the course of a nation. This is a must read for every American." ~ Author, Candace E. Salima

Invitation to my Blogger Friends: "Am I Not a Man? The Dred Scott Story" Book Launch Party

"To him, the river sang. It intoned but one word, repeated with every ripple, and lap, and tide. One word that began with a gurgle far to the North, crescendoed through the heart of a nation, and climaxed in the Deep South with such force that no power on earth could hold it back. One word that bled from every pore. One word: FREEDOM!
"The "Father of Waters" sang, not with the splash of waves lapping against the levee, for the Mighty Mississippi was wide, and thick, and slow. It slid like a solid mass of glacial mud that had been moving toward the sea since before the Fall of Adam. It was ancient by the time Moses led the Children of Israel out of slavery in Egypt. No, its melody was something more profound and ancient, and it harmonized with something deep inside Dred, and filled his very being so that he was powerless to ignore it. He turned toward the river, closed his eyes, and whispered the song of the slave." (Am I Not a Man? The Dred Scott Story by Mark L. Shurtleff, SLC, UT, Valor Publishing Group, November 2009)

This Nation Shall Not Fail
"Men may fail in this country, earthquakes may come, seas may heave beyond their bounds, there may be great drought, disaster, and hardship, but this nation, founded on principles laid down by men whom God raised up, will never fail. This is the cradle of humanity, where life on this earth began in the Garden of Eden. This is the place of the new Jerusalem. This is the place that the Lord said is favored above all other nations in all the world. This is the place where the Savior will come to His temple. This is the favored land in all the world. Yes, I repeat, men may fail, but this nation won't fail. I have faith in America; you and I must have faith in America, if we understand the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are living in a day when we must pay heed to these challenges.
"I plead with you not to preach pessimism. Preach that this is the greatest country in all the world. This is the favored land. This is the land of our forefathers. It is the nation that will stand despite whatever trials or crises it may yet have to pass through. (Ye Are the Light of the World, Harold B. Lee, p350-51)

Mark Shurtleff Speaks Out Against Bennettcare
For immediate release
Saturday, August 22, 2009 - SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- Bennett/Wyden Healthy Americans Act (HAA) sacrifices the personal liberty of Americans, redistributes wealth in the name of health care reform and will result in job losses.
Salt Lake City- Senator Bob Bennett has joined the contentious health care debate. The compromise bill he co-sponsors with Democrat Senator Wyden of Oregon embraces a few critical free-market principles, but Mark Shurtleff said the bill will lead to unintended consequences that create more government control and erode personal liberty.
While the Bennett/Wyden Healthy Americans Act (HAA) promotes some critical principles important in any reform measure, Shurtleff said it does so at too great a cost – our personal liberty. In an August 5, 2009, Washington Post op-ed, Bennett admits that under his compromise bill Americans will be required by government “to have [health insurance] coverage and to provide subsidies where necessary to ensure that everyone can afford it.” The bill also mandates that American businesses pay a portion of employee health care premiums, and gives government the authority to tell insurance companies what their policies must cover.
“To paraphrase Ronald Reagan,” said Shurtleff. “Senator Bob Bennett and Washington, D.C. insiders need to stop looking at our tax dollars as means to create government subsidies and bring about social reform.”
As written now, the HAA bill will give coverage to low-income individuals. However, people who earn between 100 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty line would also receive subsidies on a sliding scale to help pay their premiums. This means that a family of four with an income of up to $88,000 a year would qualify for government subsidies to offset the cost of premiums.
"This type of government mandate and subsidy redistributes wealth through taxation," Shurtleff remarked. "Instead of Obamacare's one giant leap to socialized medicine, Bennettcare would have us take one small leap down the slippery slope of nationalized health insurance, littered with government mandates and subsidies. A reform package that compromises our personal liberties is no reform package at all.”
Bennett’s proposal places much of the tax burden for the new subsidy on the backs of small businesses that currently do not offer a health care benefit. Businesses are penalized with higher “employer shared responsibility payment” rates as the number of persons employed by the business increases. Shurtleff worries the job market will react negatively if Bennett’s bill is passed. Shurtleff observed, “Penalties for providing jobs is the wrong approach. Bob Bennett should be looking at ways to increase jobs, not the length of unemployment lines.”
Mark Shurtleff supports health care reform that increases the portability of insurance for individuals, allows individuals and small businesses to fully claim the same tax deductions large corporations currently enjoy, removes limitations on health savings accounts (HSAs), puts an end to outrageous malpractice damage awards, and allows for communities and groups to unite in associated health plans – provided the reform package doesn’t give government the authority to force Americans to buy health insurance or create another subsidy through the redistribution of wealth to satisfy another government mandate.
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff announced his candidacy for the United States Senate on May 20, 2009. He will face fellow Republican and three-term incumbent Senator Bob Bennett in the Republican nominating convention next spring.

Exciting News for Valor!
It has been a lifelong dream of mine, one of many, to own a publishing company that would publish stellar yet highly engaging books. I wanted authors who were fun and excited to not only write but to get out there and tell the world about their books. Most of all, I wanted to be successful.
About three years ago I started getting serious about that dream, after I'd been published by Spring Creek Book Co. (Out of the Shadows...Into the Light). I started crunching numbers, making plans, developing a business and marketing plan, talking to different authors, both publish and unpublished, businessmen and women, watching the economy, paying attention to trends ... you know, everything that goes into opening a business you plan on making a success. I published two more books and kept getting everything set up.
In May I hired two of the best in the business, meaning the best editor and the best production manager and we got busy taking this dream from paper and making it a reality.
Today ... yes, today ... it all came together. I can't decide whether to launch into a manic version of the Snoopy Dance or to take a deep breath and pass out on the floor. Valor is 100% officially open for business.
Our first book is written by Utah Attorney General, Mark Shurtleff. He has written the most astounding book. I remember, when he first emailed it to me I thought to myself, "Oh please let this be good." (He's a friend. It's really hard to reject friends.) I opened the document, scrolled down and began to read. By the end of the first paragraph I was head-to-toe goosebumps. By the time I read the last word I knew I had a bestseller on my hands. The life of Dred Scott, a famous man who literally shaped American history in the mid-1800's, literally leaped off the page. Mark Shurtleff has a way with the written word that lets you know that he has a strong command of the English language. I wept, I laughed, I urged Dred Scott on as I read, turning page after page.
I'd like to share with you the first paragraphs which literally blew me away!
And so, with the signing of Mark soon came the signing of other authors: Karen E. Hoover, Daron D. Fraley, Kimberly Job, Michele Ashman Bell (for her national releases), Alison Palmer (for her fiction releases) and many more."To him, the river sang.
Then came our first big sale...really nice, big sale. Negotiations began. Contracts went back and forth. Business discussed and rehashed. Terms set and then adjusted. On and on, really all part of business, and today it finally came through. Big sale, happy me.
Valor Publishing Group now has the capability of doing everything we dreamed. Can you believe it? In this economic and political climate one of my dreams has come true. Life is good.

New Look for Dream a little dream...
Anyway, I've taken the last couple of days and stepped away from politics. Watched Ace of Cakes and Challenge, not to mention a few other cake decorating shows, watched a couple of movies and simply breathed. Obama, his administration and the 111th Congress have made life INSANE since he took office on 20 January 2009. I'm sick to death of the attacks on our republic, our nation, our Constitution and our beloved flag. My sleep is sporadic, at best, as is my ability to focus. I decided I wasn't going to let these morons in Washington, D.C. do this to me.
So I decided to stop and look at these beautiful Rocky Mountains that we are blessed to live in the shadow of:
And the beautiful flowers that surround us in the beautiful mountain meadows and landscaped homes:

and watch my favorite movie:
So yeah, it's been a beautiful couple of days, except for the coughing and not feeling well stuff. I feel much better and now it's back to the front. Townhall meetings to be attended. Emails to be sent and phone calls to be made. Traitors to be stopped. Oh yeah, and my business to make fly! (That's going really well by the way.)

Townhall Meetings with Congressman Jason Chaffetz

Chaffetz is comfortable with his votes and his stances in Washington, D.C., as well he should be. He has voted very conservatively on every single piece of legislation. So, if Congressman Chaffetz is your congressman, make the effort to attend the townhall meeting in your area. Utah will not be protesting Chaffetz, well most of us won't, but we will be protesting this atrocity they are passing off as healthcare.

Step up and be counted. To quote myself from another blog:
"We have had enough! We cannot be insulted into silence. We cannot be threatened into silence. We are simply not that weak. We are Americans who actually know our rights. We are Americans who actually know what the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights say. We are Americans who understand the political rights and our right to let our politicians know precisely how we feel about their actions. We are Americans who still believe America should be the "land of the free and the home of the brave." We are not weak. We are not afraid. We are not cowards. Do not judge us according to your own actions and values. For we have nothing in common with the likes of those dismantling American at breakneck speed.
"Americans protesting the rise of socialism and the wildly out of control spending are being verbally and physically attacked. And now we can add politically attacked. The founding fathers and every man and woman who died that this country might remain that bastion of freedom must be frothing at the mouth by now. A Nation Enraged
Truer words have rarely been spoken. Now, when our nation is under attack from enemies, both foreign and domestic, the citizenry has polarized. Those who have read the legislation flying through Congress at an alarming rate and those who believe the lies being perpetuated by the media and our federal government.
I am watching Arlen Spectre's Town Hall Meeting and an interesting, albeit infuriating, thing just occurred. One of the senator's constituents quoted the healthcare legislation ready to be voted on by the House of Representative in September. Specifically, she quoted the "if you're 59 years or older we'll give you a pain pill and end of life counseling and send you on your way" and the senator replied, "That is not true and a vicious, malicious falsehood!" And then turned away from his constituent. Scroll down a few posts on this blog and you will find the exact terminology she was quoting. I copied and pasted it from the House of Representative's website, changing not a word, and THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS.
This is precisely what is wrong with our current Congress. They are vehemently defending something they have NEVER read. Spectre made a fool of himself and it is clearly time for him to stop being a senator, that's if all the other reasons weren't enough. Pelosi, everytime she opens her mouth, proves she is nothing more than a talking head with her "astroturf" and "un-American" categorizations of hard-working Americans who have simply had enough of the destruction of the American dream and liberties.
Americans are sick to death of politicians and are hungering for statesmen. We are sick of being accused of being un-American for standing strong for the U.S. Constitution, the Republic of the United States of America and our God-given rights of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." And because of those stances, we have been promoted from right-wing extremists to political terrorists.
These every day Americans exercising their Constitutional right of freedom of speech, who have not destroyed anything or attacked anyone, are now labeled political terrorists because we are holding these politicians accountable for their traitorous actions and legislation. Because we vehemently disagree with the U.S. Congress' and the Obama Administration's policies we are political terrorists. Terrorist?
I've heard no news report that any Americans currently protesting this government having blown anything up, like ... Obama's good buddy William Ayers.
I've heard no news report of any Americans currently protesting this government having physically attacked anyone, like ... ACORN, SEIU and the Black Panthers.
I've heard no news report of any American currently protesting this government having lit anything on fire ... like liberal protests.
But we're the political terrorists? I don't think so. To equate patriotism and the exercising of our Constitutional rights as terrorism is insulting, disgusting and enraging.
So here's my message to Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the others who are so dismissive and insulting of this grassroots movement that is based on the very foundation of American politics.
We have had enough!
Americans protesting the rise of socialism and the wildly out of control spending are being verbally and physically attacked. And now we can add politically attacked. The founding fathers and every man and woman who died that this country might remain that bastion of freedom must be frothing at the mouth by now. And yes, I do believe they are watching from heaven as the nation they fought so hard to preserve is being dismantled from within.
And so let me state simply and unequically: We cannot be stopped. I end with words that ring in the heart of every American:
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause, it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
"Very few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its maximum hour of danger. This is that moment and you are that generation! Now is the time to defend our freedoms." - Judge Andrew Napolitano

UTAH STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL MARK L. SHURTLEFF RELEASES BOOK AM I NOT A MAN? THE DRED SCOTT STORY AND SPONSORS CONTEST WITH PUBLISHER, VALOR PUBLISHING GROUP
10 August 2009 - OREM, UT -- Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff will release his first historical novel Am I Not a Man? The Dred Scott Story on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. In celebration of the life, courage and strength of Dred Scott, Mark Shurtleff, working in conjunction with his publisher, Valor Publishing Group, LLC has launched a contest:
Entrants will submit a 600-word essay on the concept of Freedom and compete for a prize including an heirloom quality, signed, limited edition of Shurtleff's novel and dinner for two with the Attorney General at The Market Street Grill in Salt Lake City. All entries must be emailed to Contests and be received by midnight, September 15, 2009. The winner will be announced on the Valor website, October 1, 2009.
The story of Dred Scott shaped American history and affects our lives today. An illiterate slave, Dred Scott trusted in an all-white, slave-owning jury to declare him free. But after briefly experiencing the glory of freedom and manhood, a new state Supreme Court ordered the cold steel of the shackles to be closed again around his wrists and ankles. Falling to his knees, Dred cried, "Ain't I a man?" Dred answered his own question by rising and taking his fight to the U.S. Supreme Court. Dred ultimately lost his epic battle when the Chief Justice declared that a black man was so inferior that he had "no rights a white man was bound to respect."
"There are parts of this book where I wept as I read the passages," said publisher and author Candace E. Salima. "The strength and courage of Dred Scott are the reasons Abraham Lincoln became president, and the horrific judgment denying him his freedom and recognition as a human being is still used by our federal government today. Mark Shurtleff has done a phenomenal job breathing life into this incredible man who lived so long ago but whose life still affects us today. It is, indeed, the story of a man from whom we can all be deeply inspired."
The life and times of Dred Scott leap off the page in a brilliantly written novel worthy of every home, school and city library.
Am I Not a Man? The Dred Scott Story will be available in stores on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Pre-orders are available through Labor Day via the Valor Publishing Group website only.

Here is an excerpt from "Am I not a Man? The Dred Scott Story" by Mark L. Shurtleff:
"To him, the river sang. It intoned but one word, repeated with every ripple, and lap, and tide. One word that began with a gurgle far to the North, crescendoed through the heart of a nation, and climaxed in the Deep South with such force that no power on earth could hold it back. One word that bled from every pore. One word: FREEDOM!"
"The “Father of Waters” sang, not with the splash of waves lapping against the levee, for the Mighty Mississippi was wide, and thick, and slow. He turned toward the river, closed his eyes, and whispered the song of the slave."

Dred ultimately lost his epic battle when the Chief Justice declared that a black man was so inferior that he had "no rights a white man was bound to respect."
Dred died not knowing that his undying courage led directly to the election of President Abraham Lincoln and the emancipation proclamation.
Dred Scott's inspiring and compelling true story of adventure, courage, love, hatred, and friendship parallels the history of this nation from the long night of slavery to the narrow crack in the door that would ultimately lead to freedom and equality for all men.

From Barack Obama's Own Mouth:

"The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.
"And to that extent as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding father and the Constitution, at least as it's been interpreted.
"The Warren court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties, says what the states can't do to you, says what the federal government can't do to you. But it doesn't say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.
Barack Obama on his associates: "I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students, the foreign students, the Chicanos, the Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk rock performance pullets."
Barack Obama on Cap & Trade: "Under my plan of a uh, cap and trade system, electricity would necessarily skyrocket, regardless of whether I say coal is good or bad, because I'm capping greenhouse gasses. Coal, powered plants, natural gas, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that on to consumers."
Just before the election:
Barack Obama on America: "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America."
Barack Obama on the Bush Administration: "When you rush these budgets that are a foot high and nobody has an idea what's in them and nobody has read them..."
Reporter: "14 pounds it was."
Obama: "Yeah... it gets rushed through without any clear deliberations or debate then these kind of things happen and I think this is in some ways what happened to the Patriot Act. I mean you remember, there was no real debate about that. It was so uh, quick after 9/11 that it was introduced that people felt very intimidated by the administration."
I heard all this during the election. He went on and on and on...detailing precisely how he was going to destroy the America I know and love. And huh, isn't that what Obama and his lackey Congress have been doing during the last 7 months. Legislation so huge and decidedly lacking in all morals, that no one is reading it before rubber stamping it?
Michelle Malkin's book "The Culture of Corruption" lays everything out in detail. I strongly, strongly suggest you purchase and read this book. It exposes a lot of what I am writing about right now with facts, figures and sources.
The Democrats, with Obama at their helm, took the play from the Republican playbook and got this communist elected. Truly, my friends in Blogland, we must educate ourselves as to the strength and power of a republic form of government and the U.S. Constitution versus this communist nation being shoved on us by the Obama Administration and his lackey Congress.
There are now 44 Czars, appointed by Barack Obama, in America who have the power to circumvent Congress and the law and push the agenda of our communist president. This goes against every principle of the U.S. Constitution and yet he does not stop.
The Recovery Act, Omnibus, Cap & Trade, Hate Crime, Gun Bill, even Healthcare which is now on the floor of the House and must be stopped have stripped us of our constitutional rights. Our liberties have been stripped and half of America is still floating along on the drug known as Obama as he insidiously destroys the country which gave them the freedom to elect the traitor into office. We must, without question, bring this train toward absolute destruction to a screeching halt. In the last 3 posts I have laid out what we are facing, the names, websites and phone numbers of the Blue Dog Democrats, who sold us out last night as they bowed to the unrelenting pressure of Nancy Pelosi. That wench has got to go.
I've said over and over on this blog that we must stand up and be heard. I have given sample scripts for those too nervous to call without having something in front of them. I have given the links to the actual legislation. I have thrown tea parties. I have spoken, ad nausem, to my legislators. I have encouraged people across the nation via Facebook and Twitter, to stand up and throw these unrelenting traitors out of office. What more can I do?
Well, now comes the actual education. There is a lot of information on this blog which you can use. I am working with others to begin a series of cottage meetings teaching Americans about the political process, the republic form of government, the U.S. Constitution and strength and power of America. And yes, these will be videotaped. I am working with a gentleman to launch a website which will have video, the founding documents, instruction, links to important books, etc. in order that we might further the education of America. I am a staunch supporter of the Patrick Henry Caucus which is an organization of conservative legislators and citizens united in their purpose to assert state rights and bring the taking over of America to a screeching halt.
Gordon B. Hinckley said there were four simple things that families could do within the safety of their homes to turn society around within a generation or two: 1) Learn goodness together, 2) Work together as a family, 3) Pray morning and night, and 4) Read good books together.
This is what I am doing. How about you?
