Gone to Defend the Constitution, Back at 3:00

This is it my fellow Americans. This is our day to raise our voices and be heard. To paraphrase Samuel Adams: The brush fires started being set in February, and today the brush fires of freedom will sweep the nation. The cry for freedom from ever increasing taxes, encroaching government, socialism which has become fascism will raise to the heavens. In addition, we will defend the Constitution against all who would destroy it. Oh yes, the brush fires of freedom have been lit. Long live the Republic of the United States of America.

There are tea parties across the nation, find one and attend it if you believe we must defend America.

I'm so inspired by all of you and your willingness to stand for America. Tea Parties across the nation, over 2,000, will be held and I urge every single American who loves this nation as it was created by our founding fathers to stand up and be heard. Bring your signs. Bring your flags. Bring your teabags. I'll see you there! I want to share the words of our national anthem:

The Star Spangled Banner
by Francis Scott Key

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand between their loved home and the war's desolation. Our desolation is the destruction of America from within our borders. We must stop the relentless onslaught of socialism, fascism and communism.

May the Lord bless each and everyone of you as we fight for the preservation of our nation. God Bless America.

I will be speaking, along with Mark Shurtleff (Utah AG), Congressmen Jason Chaffetz and Rob Bishop at the Salt Lake City Tax Day Tea Party.

Federal Plaza
125 South State
Salt Lake City, UT
Noon to 2:00 p.m.

Thanks to our Attorney General, Mark Shurtleff, we have 2,000 pocket Constitutions to hand out to the attendees of our tea party. In addition, there will be tables set up to sign up for Glenn Beck's 912 Project and tables for writing letters to our soldiers.

Doug Osmond of the Osmonds 2nd Generation, will be singing the National Anthem and God Bless the USA.

2 to 3 minute speakers will be interspersed with the main speakers. All in all, conservatives are standing shoulder to shoulder across the United States of America saying: Enough is enough!

No more high taxes.
No more big federal government.
No more socialism.
No more fascism (quoting Glenn Beck there).

We stand in a solid line of Americans in front of the Constitution of the United States, a divinely inspired constitution which spawned 80+ constitutions across the world. We will not let it be destroyed. We demand our Constitutional rights from the American government.

And the star spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

  2. Candace what bothers me the most about this whole thing, and what has really come to light because of these tea parties, is how corrupt the media is. I am floored how one sided the coverage was. I read in our newspaper (Seattle Times) an article which gave 3 lines to the protest at our capital of over 4,000 and spent the rest of the rather lengthy article siting, explaining, and interviewing people from a tea party in a really small city quite a ways from our capital. They made it a point to say that only 25 people showed up and that they were all old. Then I tune in to fox news to find out that a CNN reporter practically attacked a man for trying to voice his opinion after she asked him for an interview. She wouldn't even let him finish speaking and she asked him to talk! I think the next big thing we do as a nation should be against this biased media! What say you?

  3. hey Candace! We didn't make it to the Federal Building, but we got to the Post Office. It was great fun, and there was generally a positive response. I decided to check out the news when I got home, and there you were on channel 13!! lol You're famous! grin. Anyway, I guess we'll see how it went, huh? thanks for being a great example.

  5. Monique,

We had incredible coverage here in Utah. All four news stations covered on each of their broadcasts. The papers all covered it. We were very blessed and did not have the experience the rest of the nation did with a media blackout. FOXNews reported accurately on tea parties all over the nation. Tens of thousands showed up all over. Protesters of every age, color and sex. It was an incredible experience!

  6. I should warn you all that as tax day tea party patrons, you are all officially labeled as right-wing extremists, and are considered a threat to national security. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano (thank Goodness she's no longer my governor!) considers all of you terrorists.
So, let's all join governor Rick Perry in Texas, and secede from the 'Union of Socialist Amerikan Republiks'! We'll take our Constitution with us in its pure, intended form, and live happily ever after! I can dream, can't I???

  7. Because of all the kiddos, we didn't go to our local one, but I did have a mini tea-party at home and took pics for the blog. :)

    Blessings,
