Obama Administration's "Cap and Tax" Proposal: Bishop and Chaffetz Opposed to $3.01 Billion Tax Increase on Utahns

Didn't Obama say that 95% of Americans would receive a tax break/cut? Huh? Lie #... what number is it now?

From Congressman Jason Chaffetz's Website:
March 26, 2009 4:48 PM

Washington, DC – Data released today by the House Committee on Ways and Means demonstrates that every state in the Union – and every American – will be hit hard by a new and highly regressive “Cap and Trade” tax.

The President’s recently-released budget imposes a $3.01 billion tax on Utahns. On a per capita basis, each Utahn will be hit with $1,115.47 in new taxes on their electricity bill alone. Families will be hit even harder. The data show this new tax will increase the average Utah family’s (3.08 people/household) annual electricity bill by $3,435.65 or by nearly $290 per month. While other energy costs are low as a result of the recession, all energy costs will increase as the Administration increases the velocity of its frontal assault on American energy security.

At a recent congressional hearing on energy consumption, Mr. Howard Gruenspecht, an expert witness from the Energy Information Agency (EIA), a non-partisan federal agency dealing with energy issues, was asked what percent of Americans consume some form of energy. He replied: “All of them.” Further, he was also asked what percent of Americans would be impacted by a cap and trade tax. His answer: “Probably all of them.”

Since everyone in America consumes energy, then everyone in America will suffer the consequences of the Obama Administration’s foolhardy proposal to regulate climate change through so-called “Cap and Trade (Tax)” policies. The Administration’s proposal will not only further cripple the economy, it will impose a crushing energy consumption tax on every man, woman, and child in the United States.

In response to this proposal, Congressman Jason Chaffetz said, “With so many individuals already living on the margins, this massive new tax increase will destroy our hope of recovering from the current recession. The financial security of all Americans will be jeopardized if this tax is enacted. Now is not the time to increase taxes, nor is this the way. Despite the President’s assurances that 95 percent of Americans will not see their taxes increase by one dime, the numbers clearly show his plan will actually increase taxes on 100 percent of Americans.”

Congressman Rob Bishop said, "Cap and Tax would be a tremendous burden on all Utahns, but thankfully it is not the only option we have to reach clean air goals. The Western Caucus will introduce other, better options for Congress that meet clean air goals without raising energy costs for all Americans. There are better ways, and we will fight for them."

Committee on Ways and Means Republicans

New Analysis Shows Massive Spike in Electricity Prices Under Cap-and-Tax (a.k.a Cap-and-Trade) Washington, DC – Ways and Means Ranking Member Dave Camp (R-MI) issued the following statement during today’s committee hearing addressing price volatility in climate change legislation. The graph below shows the state-by-state analysis of annual increases in electricity costs that would occur under a 100% auction, as President Obama has called for, to meet his target carbon emission reductions: “As the data suggests, in almost every case, cap-and-tax increases electricity rates and causes hardships for American families. In the past, providing incentives for renewable and alternate forms of energy has worked at lowering emissions. Congress should not resort to using penalties of an unproven cap-and-tax system that only serves to put millions of Americans out of work and skyrocket the cost of electricity for American families.

Thanks Obama --- this is the kind of change you were talking about. Taxing all of us into bankruptcy so that you can do your snoopy dance in the oval office and destroying so many companies and Americans?

Another Successful LDS Storymaker Writers Conference

Early on the morning of Friday, April 24th, aspiring writers met at the Provo Marriott to begin an intense boot camp session on writing. The 6th Annual LDS Storymakers Writers Conference, “The Success Within You” had been launched. That begin two days of classes and presentations on writing, marketing, publishing, one-on-one pitches with editors and agents and more. It was an incredible weekend and J. Scott Savage knocked this one out of park!

First, here's a funny video, "I wanna be a Bestseller" (spoof of "I Wanna be a Rockstar"). Directed and edited by Stephanie Fowers, author of Meet Your Match and Rules of Engagement. Lyrics written by Heather Moore and Crystal Liechty.

Did I mention Stephanie is the singer as well? Authors Josi Kilpack, Annette Lyon, Jaime Theler, Tristi Pinkston, BJ Rowley, J. Scott Savage, James Dashner, H.B. Moore, Crystal Liechty, Rachel Ann Nunes and Robison Wells join Stephanie in the "I Wanna Be a Bestseller".

As usual, the conference was amazing. I taught a marketing class and sat on an online marketing panel, but I was just as excited as everyone elseto take classes from authors, publishers, editors, agents, etc. Every year I learn more and walk away from there a little bit better. As one who tries to constantly hone her craft, it is a huge boost to the creative process.

This year, we held the writers conference at the Provo Marriott who did a stellar job in providing a first class venue. The organizers of the conference were able to focus completely on the presentations and classes without worrying about the venue. So thank you so much to the directors and managers of Provo Marriott . . . you made a huge difference!

And so the Storymaker Conference has ended for another year and Tristi Pinkston and Jaime Theler have begun planning on the next.

In the meantime, teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 years old will want to attend the Teen Writers Conference in Ogden, Utah. This is also hosted by a number of LDS Storymakers, all published authors of course, so it a course teenagers who wish to write will not want to miss.

Teen Writers Conference
"Living the Writer's Legacy"
What: Workshop
Host: Heather Moore
Start Time: Saturday, June 6 at 9:00am
End Time: Saturday, June 6 at 6:00pm
Where: Weber State University

Replay: April 15th Anti-Tax Day Speech

Seth Adam Smith, who also attended the tea party, sent me the link to the video he recorded of our Anti-Tax Day Tea Party. You can listen to all the main speakers by going to Seth's channel on YouTube.

But here is the recording of my entire speech:

Also, here are some pictures from the tea party:

Navy veteran and author, Linda Scanlan drove from another state to attend the Salt Lake City Anti-Tax Day Tea Party. Linda blogs at I Knew I Could Fly.

She proudly held the Declaration of Liberty and stuck it out until the bitter end. Cold, wet and trembling, she didn't want to leave.

Thank you, Linda, for your service and devotion to our beloved nation.

And to quote one of my favorite founding fathers, Patrick Henry:

"The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged!" (Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death, Patrick Henry, 23 March 1775)

To all the veterans across this great land, we thank you for your service, your dedication and your sacrifices that we might live freely in the United States of America.

We must uphold them, defend them and stand strong for them against Janet Napolitano's heinous classification of the heroes of America.

Doug Osmond, one of my favorite Osmonds, joined us to sing The Star Spangled Banner and he electrified the crowd with God Bless the USA.

He held the American flag high and proudly stood for the USA.

Doug performs with his brothers, Osmonds 2nd Generation, and their concerts are fun, entertaining and filled with great music, natch.

But I see a solo career coming on for Doug. Wow, that man can seriously sing!

While other tea parties ran into serious trouble with the press in their areas of the country, we were blessed to have our local ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX stations attend and interview.

Radio station KNRS, one of my favorites, also showed up and we had some good coverage throughout the day, evening and again on Sunday.

This is Chris Vanocur of ABC (Channel 4) interviewing me as to what we were protesting about.

So thank you to the press of Utah. Some of you reported fairly, some did not, but to all, I give you credit for not ignoring 15 tea parties across the state, joining with 2,000 plus others across the nation in hope that Washington, D.C. would hear. D.C. claimed not to, but we know they did.

Here are a few more pictures:

Thanks to all of you for showing up and supporting the fight for freedom! Next stop. July 4th Tea Party in Orem, UT. Again, it will be a nationwide effort. Details will be nailed down in the next few days and posted here!

We had a Tea Party and Obama Declared War on Hard-working Americans

I wanted to share a little bit of my experience with our tea party this last Wednesday. It rained, sleet came along and then snow. And it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Here's the speech I gave:

What a phenomenal, inspiring, motivating experience it was to watch that crowd of American patriots stand there in the bitter cold with rain, sleet and snow drenching them. They were trembling, their lips were blue and their hands bright red. But they stood there, the light of freedom burning brightly within them. I was so proud to stand with them and other patriots from over 2,000 tea parties across the nation.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans took to the streets, parks and plazas of America to protest the wildly out of control spending in Washington, D.C. Concerned their voices were not being heard, this fear was confirmed when Barack Obama said he wasn't really aware of any tea parties and he had something of his own to do. Nancy Pelosi called our ground swell movement sweeping over the nation of angry Americans "astro-turf" rather than grassroots.

Well, we were right, Washington, D.C. isn't listening. In 2010 we are going for a sweep of the entire Congress save a select few conservatives valiantly trying to save our Constitution. We will educate the nation about the Constitution and why a republic is far superior to a socialist/fascist/communist regime. We will educate the nation about the founding fathers and that 3% of Americans who turned the world on its ear and formed a new nation.

Oh, and there is Janet Napolitano's crew over at the Department of Homeland Security who took America's rage of having socialism, shoot we're all the way into fascism now, shoved down our throats. They criminalized our rage toward higher taxes, the destruction of our Constitution and the redistribution of wealth and declared war on hard-working Americans.

The report reads: "(U//LES) Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning." (http://video1.washingtontimes.com/video/extremismreport.pdf)

Apparently I need to say it again, I don't care if Obama is purple and covered with pink dots. I don't care if he's black, white, red or something from out of space. My direct and only problem with the man are his policies. He is a devotee of Karl Marx and he is dismantling our Constitution at a startling quick rate. He is courting the favor of communist leaders. He is ignoring the warnings from the likes of Vladimir Putin to not go down the road of socialism (we left that train stop awhile ago). He is apologizing for America all over the world . . . we apologize for nothing! Well--

I guess we could apologize for stepping into World War I and fighting that battle for Europe.

I guess we could apologize for stepping into World War II and fighting that battle for Europe. We sacrificed the lives of over 400,000 Americans to free Europe from Hitler's violent, insane grip.

I guess we could apologize for the humanitarian care Americans pour out unto the world.

I guess we could apologize for the schools, churches, parks and cities we've rebuilt for nations across the world.

I guess we could apologize for freeing God's children across the world from serial killers masquerading as leaders of nations.

Yeah, you're right. We should have stayed out of all of that.

Anyway, I digress.

Here's a formal letter to Barack Obama, Janet Napalitano, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi

Dear Sirs and Madams,

It has come to my attention that the Department of Homeland Security has decided to label hard-working, patriotic Americans as domestic terrorists. This is, of course, a travesty to say the least.

We oppose the destruction of the republic of the United States of America, not the color of Barack Obama's skin.

We oppose the destruction of the divinely inspired Constitution, not the color of Barack Obama's skin. Oh hey, double whammy on my part, I believe in God and I oppose the destruction of the Constitution.

We oppose the highest tax raise in the history of America, not the color of Barack Obama's skin.

We are deeply offended by the DHS labeling those men and women who suffered and sacrificed to protect this great country as potential terrorists. Someone needs to be taken out behind the woodshed for that one.

We oppose the loss of freedom, not the color of Barack Obama's skin.

So let me say in closing. I am pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, pro-America, pro-Constitution, anti-communism, anti-socialism, anti-fascism, anti-big government and I LOVE GOD. I believe in the government the founding fathers set up not the one the Obama Administration and Congress are replacing it with. I believe in personal responsibility, strong work ethic, integrity, courage, loyalty and patriotism. I believe, as did Patrick Henry, that God watches over nations. I believe in the Constitution as the rule of law and I believe in the Bible.

I am an American and I will not bow to anything that will destroy this beloved nation of ours.

As such, I denounce the label of domestic terrorist given us and label those great Americans across the land who are standing for conservative values, returning America to its full and complete glory and replace it with American patriot. It was a handful of patriots in 1773 who turned the course of a nation. And we shall do the same now.

God Bless America.

Sincerely,
Candace E. Salima

Gone to Defend the Constitution, Back at 3:00

This is it my fellow Americans. This is our day to raise our voices and be heard. To paraphrase Samuel Adams: The brush fires started being set in February, and today the brush fires of freedom will sweep the nation. The cry for freedom from ever increasing taxes, encroaching government, socialism which has become fascism will raise to the heavens. In addition, we will defend the Constitution against all who would destroy it. Oh yes, the brush fires of freedom have been lit. Long live the Republic of the United States of America.

There are tea parties across the nation, find one and attend it if you believe we must defend America.

I'm so inspired by all of you and your willingness to stand for America. Tea Parties across the nation, over 2,000, will be held and I urge every single American who loves this nation as it was created by our founding fathers to stand up and be heard. Bring your signs. Bring your flags. Bring your teabags. I'll see you there! I want to share the words of our national anthem:

The Star Spangled Banner
by Francis Scott Key

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand between their loved home and the war's desolation. Our desolation is the destruction of America from within our borders. We must stop the relentless onslaught of socialism, fascism and communism.

May the Lord bless each and everyone of you as we fight for the preservation of our nation. God Bless America.

I will be speaking, along with Mark Shurtleff (Utah AG), Congressmen Jason Chaffetz and Rob Bishop at the Salt Lake City Tax Day Tea Party.

Federal Plaza
125 South State
Salt Lake City, UT
Noon to 2:00 p.m.

Thanks to our Attorney General, Mark Shurtleff, we have 2,000 pocket Constitutions to hand out to the attendees of our tea party. In addition, there will be tables set up to sign up for Glenn Beck's 912 Project and tables for writing letters to our soldiers.

Doug Osmond of the Osmonds 2nd Generation, will be singing the National Anthem and God Bless the USA.

2 to 3 minute speakers will be interspersed with the main speakers. All in all, conservatives are standing shoulder to shoulder across the United States of America saying: Enough is enough!

No more high taxes.
No more big federal government.
No more socialism.
No more fascism (quoting Glenn Beck there).

We stand in a solid line of Americans in front of the Constitution of the United States, a divinely inspired constitution which spawned 80+ constitutions across the world. We will not let it be destroyed. We demand our Constitutional rights from the American government.

And the star spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

America's Viewpoint: Universal Healthcare, Huh?

Here is an insightful column on universal healthcare written by mother, who completely rocks!

from Muriel Sluyter
on Rocky Mountain Straight Talk

Greetings, Gentle Reader,

Every Christmas we watch "White Christmas" at least once. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye do a number called, "Oh! I wish I were back in the Army." One line goes this way: "The best of doctors watched us carefully." Every time I hear that line I crack up laughing. I know the guys were cared for, and I think it may be even better today, but universal medical care, as they have in the service, doesn’t include "watching carefully."

Let’s examine this thing called "universal healthcare." We are hearing much about it from the new administration. It sounds great! Affordable medical care for everyone! Wow! Who could argue with that? The answer? Anyone who has experienced it. Why? Because it works very badly. Want an explanation? I thought you’d never ask!

Okay. All joking aside, it really doesn’t work well at all, as anyone who has been involved in it can explain. Since my children and I were military defendants for several years, they and I had plenty of time to see it from the inside out.

Those years were during my youth, back when I was still having my children. The rules said you had to make an appointment by a certain time of your pregnancy, because they had to get you on the schedule for the baby’s delivery, so they would not be too backed up by other mothers due to deliver all at the same time.

It is important to know that the bulk of the military dependent women were young wives, almost all of whom were having their families during that time of their lives. That, all by itself, created the same conditions that exist in today’s clinics, designed to provide universal medical care. Both Canadian and English residents can attest to the results of those conditions.

Many of the military doctors were interns, who had recently graduated from medical school. Back then, all men were required to serve in the military during their youth. If they didn’t enlist, they would be drafted into the Army, so many chose to enlist in the Marine Corps, Navy or Air Force, rather than the Army. This meant many doctors were still young and relatively inexperienced compared to civilian doctors, who often had decades of experience under their belts. It was not unusual to have complications that increased the chance of danger to either the mother or baby. If there was an older, more experienced doctor on duty, you were in luck. If not, you simply took your and your baby’s chances with the young doctor. You had no choice. If he made no mistakes, all was well. Sometimes he did make mistakes.

When your new baby was six weeks old, you were required to take it to a "well baby clinic." It was universally assumed that your baby would come down with a cold the next day. Why? Because you had to sit for hours in a crowded room with what seemed to be thousands of other babies, some of whom had colds. There really were not thousands, but it was usual to have several dozens of mothers and babies, many of whom were accompanied by older siblings. It truly seemed like thousands.

During the winter, getting a cold increased your baby’s chance of getting pneumonia. If the young mother realized what was happening and caught it in time, and if the baby responded to the antibiotics, the baby recovered. If she did not, or if the baby didn’t respond to the medicine, the consequences could be fatal. Why? Because with universal healthcare, you have to follow the schedule of the clinic, which told you what, when and how.

It became the norm for a mother to wait until the baby/child was definitely sick , before going to the clinic, because if he was not really sick when he was taken to the clinic, the attention he got would be scant and hurried. Unfortunately, waiting for a child to get really sick is a recipe for a potential disaster. A sickness caught early is much easier to treat than one that has had time to get past the child’s defenses and become entrenched in his little body.

The quality of prenatal care in the military was such that I learned to wait until I was a few months along, rather than going in when I was supposed to do. That way, I was told the delivery date schedule was full, and I must arrange to be treated by a civilian doctor. I learned the hard way that an experienced older doctor would not give me a prenatal exam until I was far enough along that it would not cause a miscarriage, which had happened several times. The military clinic followed a schedule designed for the mass of women, ignoring the special needs of problem pregnancies.

This is just the tip of the universal healthcare iceberg. It goes straight downhill from there. My first daughter came within a hair of dying because of a careless and grossly incorrect diagnosis by doctors who were required to treat indigent citizens. Unfortunately, many doctors are less diligent with those who are not paying patients. It is a fact of life, and it accomplishes nothing to deny it. They often must care for people who are destroying their own health with disgustingly destructive types of behavior, and some of them react in a fashion that is all too human.

In both of these circumstances, whether with military or civilian universal healthcare, the quality of care is too often questionable. The doctors and nurses are overworked, because people who do not have to pay for care tend to come in more often than they would if they had to turn over hard cash every time they saw a doctor. The result is a doctor having to spend time on someone who doesn’t feel well, instead of spending it on a patient who is genuinely sick. The genuinely sick patient needs more time than the doctor has to spend, while the "doesn’t feel well" patient uses up time without legitimate cause. Why? Because the care is free or close to it.

Universal healthcare sounds great, but it isn’t. Don’t be tricked. If you can afford to pay the doctor, you will be given much better care when you truly need it. And if it’s any comfort, before the government got involved in medicare for the elderly, a doctor’s visit cost five dollars. From the time medicare began, healthcare began a rapid climb, until now, it’s through the roof, as everyone knows.

Until next time,

Muriel Sluyter

Tax Day Tea Party Rules

It seemed wise, as conservatives are not known for demonstrating, that we explain the purpose and guidelines of the Tax Day Tea parties.

Yes, we are definitely protesting big government, high taxes, the desecration of our Constitution and the forcing of socialism on Americans.

But to the positive, we are celebrating America as she was established and preserved throughout 220 years. We are celebrating our Constitution, upon which 80 plus other Constitutions are based. We are celebrate the greatness of our nation.

And as conservatives are not prone to the burning of things, blowing up of things or running naked through the street (hey, I was a kid in the 60's) it was nice that someone from "We Surround Them" established a few rules:

Demonstration Rules of Order

A demonstration is all about communicating and “Winning the hearts and minds of the people.”

We communicate to those who are physically present, and through the media to others who are not.

· Vulgar or aggressive behavior is not permitted

· Report vulgar or aggressive behavior immediately to police or to designated event authorities

· Do not obstruct traffic or other people

· Be courteous to the media – most are decent people just doing a job. Some are professional journalists with integrity. A few are not, and these will be glad to broadcast any discourtesy.

· If you are “interviewed” by anyone, this is your opportunity to inform. Provide a thoughtful, reasonable response and try to base it upon generally known facts and common sense.

· If a “Counter-demonstrator” appears, do not engage them in an argument or allow them to provoke you. Tolerate them, and film them in case they do something provocative too.

· Meet new friends – collect stuff - join groups

This is a time for conservatives across the nation, the huge silent majority, to step up and be heard. These parties are in defense of our nation and all that we hold dear as Americans. Please come and be ready to be heard by the world. A producer of the Glenn Beck Show has assured our organizers that portions of our tea party will be played on Glenn's show. This is fantastic and opportunity to show the world that Utah remains as one of the last bastions of conservatism in the nation and we will not stand down.

Remember:

Wednesday - April 15th, 2009
Federal Plaza
125 South State
Salt Lake City, UT
Noon to 2:00 p.m.

This party is about America, not any one politician or campaign. As such, we have solemn vows from each of our speakers to stay on point:

Congressman Jason Chaffetz will speak about the Dangers of Big Government
Congressman Rob Bishop will speak about High Taxes, the BLM and Land Grabs
Attorney General Mark Shurtleff will speak about the beauty and strength of the Constitution
And I, Candace E. Salima, will be speaking about the Dangers of Socialism

Also, those who wish to speak for 2 to 3 minutes, please email Adam Gardiner and detail what you will be speaking on. You will be held strictly to the 2 to 3 minute limit, so time your message well.

Just as an additional note: I have purchased a Title of Liberty from Latter-day Banners and an American Flag as well, both 3x5 in size. I will be carrying these at the protest. I ask of each to purchase flags, be they small or large and wave them at the protest along with your signs. This is America and we love her dearly. As such we want to remind the world that we are not going away. We are not going quietly into that good night, but standing for America and the Constitution.

Oh, one more thing! Congressman Jason Chaffetz has donated 2,000 pocket Constitutions to be distributed at the Salt Lake Tax Day Tea Party. So be sure to find event staff and get your own.

And remember the Title of Liberty: In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives (or husbands), and our children. Captain Moroni

Silent No More

The Conservatives of this nation have long been called the Silent Majority. My fellow Americans, the time for sitting comfortably in your chairs or couches and saying, "Things will work themselves out" is gone. Simply put, if you do not stand up now and be heard it will be too late.

You may feel I am being overly dramatic, but I assure you, Barack Obama has done more damage to this nation and Constitution that has even been attempted in the last 220 years. And it's only taken him two months. We have 48 months to go . . . at this rate, having racked up over $5 trillion in proposed debt, with final price tag being in the double digits, we can no longer afford to remain silent.

With Article of the Constitution after Article being shot down, so quickly it is stunning, we can no longer remain silent.

The first and second amendments of the Constitution, not to mention the ninth and tenth . . . oh shoot, Obama and this Congress have violated every single article and amendment of the Constitution in one way or another since January 20, 2009.

Now, I've heard many people say: "Well Bush did this-" and "Reagan did that" and ... people, really -- nothing any president has done in the past excuses Obama's and this Congress' actions of treason toward this nation.

America was founded on strength, courage, bravery and people who fled to this nation away from the tyranny and insanity of European monarchies. They carved homes out of this unforgiving yet majestic land and they fought hard for freedom from King George and his British subjects.

We must not allow the federal government to complete its destruction of America and our Constitution. We must stand up and be heard. We can no longer sit idly by and leave it to someone else to take care of. There is no one else. We are it.

You must leave your armchairs, your gardens, your garages, your kitchens and arise from your places employment . . . America is in danger of being forever lost. If you do not stand now, it will be too late.

Begin with a Tax Day Tea Party in your area. Here in Utah, I am speaking at the:

Utah Tax Day Tea Party
Fedearl Plaza
125 South State
Salt Lake City, UT
April 15th, Noon to 2:00.

I'm being joined by Attorney General Mark Shurtleff who will be speaking on the Constitution, Congressman Jason Chaffetz will be speaking on the dangers of Big Government, Congressman Rob Bishop will be speaking on High Taxes, the BLM and Federal Land Grabs and I, I will be speaking on the Dangers of Socialism.

Join us, along with hundreds, hopefully thousands, of other conservative Utahns as we gather together and say to Washington, D.C.: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We are silent no more!

No more BIG GOVERNMENT.

No more HIGHER TAXES.

No more ROBBING US OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL AND GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS.

No more FORCING SOCIALISM UPON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Make signs to wave at the protest, which is suitable for bringing your children. We aren't liberals we believe in being law-abiding. Come ready to cheer when you agree to the great things about this nation, boo when you agree that America is under attack and it is from within our own government.

Across the nation conservative voices will join in a hue and cry which will reach the heavens. It will echo through the hallowed, yet desecrated, halls of Congress. It will sound through every room of our White House, currently occupied by a communist. Far left, just doesn't describe what this man is doing to America.

Barack Obama, his administration and this Congress have spit in the face of the American people. And we cry out to the government NO MORE!

Will Barack Obama be impeached and tried for treason? No, of course not. And yet he has committed impeachable offenses and has failed in the oath he took to defend the Constitution of the United States of America. He is dismantling every freedom and every value we hold dear and no one, I mean not one single person in government, is stopping him.

And so it is up to us. It is up to the American people who still believe in personal responsibility, courage, a strong work ethic, serving your fellowman, taking care of your own, defending your nation with everything in you and knowing that you are blessed to be living in this great nation. It is these people who are rising up on April 15th and taking a stand.

It is you. I need you. America needs you. Truly, we cannot do it without you. Please join us in every way you can. Attend the tax day tea party in your area. The Tea Party effort is just a small piece of a much larger movement aimed at restoring the basic free-market principles our country was built on. The Constitution, for the most part, is being ignored by our current government and we intend on working together to correct the problem.

The Tea Party effort is a grassroots, collaborative volunteer organization made up of every day American citizens from across the country. We take pride in the fact that we've built a 50 state network of leaders and activists using nothing more than the internet, a few websites and a burning desire to restore freedom. Begin a blog and post about America, your hopes and dreams, the dangers we face today as Americans.

Often, even daily if you have the time, check the White House (Obama is fond of sneaking in executive orders), Senate and House of Representatives websites and keep an eye on what they are doing. Call them every time they step out of line, which will be every day, and encourage your family, friends and neighbors to do the same. Write letters to the editors of your newspapers.

As an example, Queen Pelosi (she probably gets great delight in that title never realizing how derogatory I intend it) has stated she will pass Obama's $3.6 trillion dollar budgetary disaster before he returns from Europe. It is my suggestion you light up the lines to Washington, D.C. and keep them lit up. We can't afford $3.6 trillion to the almost $2 trillion he's already spent or promised to spend.

I have such hope because of the young people I am working with on this Tax Day Tea Party. We must win this fight. We have to, because we do have wonderful people to turn this nation over to. We simply must preserve it until they are ready. Join me in this battle, please.
