It sure seems to take a long time to get the medical help you need in nationalized countries. I do believe we have too many uninsured and underinsured people in this country, but I don't think the solution is handing out free health care. The solution is to make insurance more affordable for smaller companies and individuals, and to keep drug companies from running out hospitals and doctors' offices. I don't want a national health care system that's going to decide whether or not my life is worth saving.Mindihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07532018311283700685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-2092003325168541382008-07-05T16:09:00.000-06:002008-07-05T16:09:00.000-06:00I remember when Obama was elected senator and he w...I remember when Obama was elected senator and he was in the news all over the place and I told my husband at the time he scared me. There's just something in his eyes, or maybe it's the lack of something, that just really frightens me. The Antichrist would be a good description, Hitler would be another. I'm frightened for our beloved Country, I truly am.

You're right Keeley, the focus on who should be elected certainly has nothing to do with who will do the best for the country. That scares me too.Mindihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07532018311283700685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-62829219655286023142008-06-30T12:24:00.000-06:002008-06-30T12:24:00.000-06:00Tristi, I'm SO not surprised by what happened with...Tristi, I'm SO not surprised by what happened with your Mum in England. My aunt had an x-ray on her arm because she's been in pain with it for the past year....and was told they would have the results in 2-3 WEEKS. Government healthcare is NOT good. I mean, for goodness sakes, anyone with half a brain can look at what's going on in countries where they have it...and run away screaming!

Ok...what have I missed lately on the news about Obama and the Seal. What? He says he's going to change it?

I'd love to see those pictures too.

Candace, my daughter gives me hope too. =) Hope for the future...but not for this election. I've said for months that Obama is going to win. He's so smooth. I find him more terrifying than the Clintons. At least with the Clintons you KNOW what you're going to get; self-serving narcissism. Obama really and truly believes what he's doing is right...and when someone is so self-deluded it's freaky scary.

Let's be clear. The American Presidential Race has become a race of
Who is the most beautiful?
Who looks the part?
Who sounds slick?
Who has the most money?
Who'll give us something for nothing so we don't have to work at all? and
Who knows the most influential people?.Keeleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10699051418849331296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-55112647924247659052008-06-30T11:57:00.000-06:002008-06-30T11:57:00.000-06:00Interesting, Keith. They choose who gets treated, who lives and who dies. It's very scary. If you're mom is willing to share the pictures and her experience I'm willing to post them on my blog.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16986635883342034311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-76978037902327437782008-06-30T10:29:00.000-06:002008-06-30T10:29:00.000-06:00My mom went into the hospital while in England and...My mom went into the hospital while in England and was very concerned by her stay there. She took pictures of the layers of garbage and filth on the floor, and her first day in, they didn't have a room for her, so they put her in a common room with men and women, and was later told that was the drunk tank. She ended up coming home to receive proper medical treatment and was feeling much better within four days.

I think Obama would be worse than the Clintons. Bill was more concerned about his little girlfriends than he was about the nation. I'm just trying to figure out how Obama thinks he gets to change the seal. He's not elected, and even if he was, does that give him the right? I seriously don't think so. What if every president who came in changed it? Then it would become like a slogan or an ad campaign rather than something to live up to.Tristi Pinkstonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12122250747480013804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-50876662093213861932008-06-30T07:02:00.000-06:002008-06-30T07:02:00.000-06:00I realize this may sound crazy (maybe not) and it ...I realize this may sound crazy (maybe not) and it is an idea, or theory, I intend to merge into a future novel, but I believe Obama is the Antichrist. If you read descriptions of who the Antichrist will be, it surely appears to be our future president.Keith Katsikashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03169572244719996970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-21584909296833557942008-06-29T20:54:00.000-06:002008-06-29T20:54:00.000-06:00Oh Keeley - your daughter gives me hope!Oh Keeley - your daughter gives me hope!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16986635883342034311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-11399334356328984702008-06-29T19:49:00.000-06:002008-06-29T19:49:00.000-06:00Funny you should mention Hitler. My daughter once surprised me by saying that Obama was like Hitler.

When I asked her to clarify she said "He believes in really scary things, but nobody's paying attention to that because he's so charismatic. He'll sneak it in the back door and everyone will say "How did that happen?" when it happened because they were too busy being enchanted by him to look at what he REALLY believes in."

Wow. That's one smart girl. =)Keeleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10699051418849331296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-25065060949537486622008-06-29T16:23:00.000-06:002008-06-29T16:23:00.000-06:00Marja, Driving an SUV is not a want in my families...Marja, Driving an SUV is not a want in my families case, but a neccesity- there are no other vehicles large enough to hold all of us. Not everyone has the 1.whatever children that fit in the small cars. In fact, I just had to trade in my small car for a bigger one because the kids no longer fit.

Candace- I am with you on this (as I am on so many things) We, as a country need to wake up and stop letting these charlatans take our freedoms- no actually we are slowly giving them away and selling ourselves into bondage. And I do honestly believe that this is a sign that the end is closer than we would like to think.Sandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03761951935843784725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-36371020744548001232008-06-29T07:45:00.000-06:002008-06-29T07:45:00.000-06:00True, Marja. But my sweet friend we'll just disagree on that.

We'll have to see how it shakes down in America. This country, sadly, is becoming something my ancestors would be ashamed of.

And in all honesty, I don't actually know that there are people who keep their homes at 72, although I'm sure there are some. Our home stays at 68. But in America the federal government is not allowed to dictate something like that, for a reason. As to SUVs, I've always wanted one but doubt I'll ever be able to get one due to the costs.

For as many scientists who say there is global warming, there are an equal number of respectable scientists who say there isn't. The earth has natural cooling and heating cycles. We peaked, heatwise, at sometime in the 1700s. Sorry I can't remember the details of exactly when. We've peaked again and the earth actually showing signs of cooling, not warming.

Nevertheless, those misrepresenting what actually is occurring are taking hold and freedom will cease to exist in the world. Where will we be then? No America. Which will make the world happy until another "Hitler" decides to take over the world and there's no one to stand in "his" way.

Anyway, it's interesting to get a European viewpoint, but clearly, I disagree.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16986635883342034311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-73610564735127703792008-06-29T07:04:00.000-06:002008-06-29T07:04:00.000-06:00Scary scary scary...I dissagree on 2 things though...Scary scary scary...
I dissagree on 2 things though,
from what I hear from people living in the US, and what I hear on the news, I think your health care system is not one of the best in the world, as long as there are still people getting bankrupt or loose their home because of medical bills. There's not 1 country in whole Europe where that happens! Everyone has basic standard health insurance here, and will get the care they need.
As for the SUV's, America and China are 2 of the most polluting countries on this planet. So it would make a HUGE difference if all those HUGE gass-slurping cars would be banned, and it would set a GREAT example to the rest of the world!
Putting the heat down a bit and wear a sweater is not so bad if we can save this planet for our children, and their children, and their's...
I do hope with you, that American people will wake up. One Hitler was a very bad example of how it is NOT supposed to be. However, I don't think it'll come that far. We simply won't let it.
XMARJAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07003495427964241038noreply@blogger.com
