What kind of example are they setting for their children - that it is okay to break the law? Even the Lord taught "Render unto Caesar..." If there are problems in your home country, what are you doing here - why are you not there fighting to gain the same freedoms that my forefathers sacrificed for - some with their own lives? If we as citizens of my country do not defend some of the laws in the name of compassion, then is it okay then for anyone to selectively disobey any law they feel is inappropriate for whatever reason? Gee - I think perhaps I will overlook the laws that prohibit me from robbing a bank tomorrow, and ask you to support my view that anyone should be able to walk into a bank and leave with a million dollars. That is just as absurd as your contention that we should allow anyone to violate the borders of my country for whatever reason - and to be perfectly honest the USA is in danger of losing its sovereignty because more and more of the laws of this country are being added to the list labeled "IGNORE." WAKE UP, PEOPLE! It is due time we return the Rule of Law to this country, and it starts with each and every one of us - because if we don't, our freedom is in danger.Clark Wannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09573899565015148781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-31806754464688338982011-06-17T11:29:15.852-06:002011-06-17T11:29:15.852-06:00Well, to address your hypothetical situation, the ...Well, to address your hypothetical situation, the law provides for a grant of asylum to those people who have a well-founded fear for the their life. Those who trully are affraid to return to their countries, should file an asylum petition and, if that petition is granted, will remain in the U.S. legally. I won't have a problem with that.

There are legal ways to be humane. Let's use those ways, reforming them, if needed. By the way, I am an immigrant to the U.S. myself. I came here on a student visa, and it took me 18 years to become a U.S. citizen legally. I am not against lagal immigration. I support people entering out country through the front door. I am just against someone trying to sneak in through the window, so to speak.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06218195924577973517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-738015707983587606.post-19558531841223389872011-04-30T01:28:27.811-06:002011-04-30T01:28:27.811-06:00Let me ask you something. What if they get deported to a place where women and children are raped? Or where boys are kidnapped to be be soldiers? Or where they can't make a living. Or where the children can't get an education? Or where women are not equal?

Is that Christian?

I guess I'm trying to understand the reasoning. You have been blessed to live in your country. You didn't earn it. It was given to you. But you don't want to share the blessings with those who have less.

Not everyone who comes to the states is trying to smuggle drugs and commit terrorist acts. Many just want to give their children a better chance.

They're God's children too.Anna Maria Junushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14589846694967185982noreply@blogger.com
